Being on here for almost 7 years I have seen most of the good and bad changes on Howrse. I'm not so sure about the Big Challenege just yet. Personally it's very frustrating to not be receiving money in the Prix, instead just a horseshoe. Maybe this was changed so it might present a challenge to some players? Personally I don't need another challenge right now. A few more days of using the Big Challenge and I will probably be sick of it and won't pay much attention to it.

That's the thing, you can opt in anytime during a promo, before, or after. But you cannot opt out once a promo is in play. That's a way to prevent cheating, like say with a promo like the advent calendar. If you keep going back and forth between in and out, you could end up with only the 'better' prizes. Of course for the Lottery where you could give friends a ticket, if you opt in your name's on the list, opt out and it won't show.

In all honesty, I think that will reduce the amount of 'not another promo' rants. The only ranting they could do is that if they wanted to opt out but forgot to change their opt in/out it's their own fault and not the game's. They'd be ranting at themselves for their forgetfulness.

Well it is definitely an idea. I get what your saying - would be a nice feature to have, especially for those that really do not want to take part in the Big Challenge

Yes and I hope a decent one, but it's like to be drowned out in a few hours. If we still had the idea forum, I would definitely put it there and have promoted it. Similarly with a better blocking feature.

I never thought I'd say this, but the new Vanner coats are growing on me. Especially if they have wings. I mean she is just soooo cute

I hate this new great challenge thing! I miss the objectives! And no more PROMOS?!?!?!?! I might quit! I really don't like the new you've-got-a-message thing, and some of the new coats are hideous!

We still have promos lort, we just have to collect some shoes to unlock it.

There will be more promos, but only after the end of the Great Challenge... You don't have to partake in it, so it's not really worth quitting over. And you could be a bit nicer about the new coats... Someone did have to make them, and I'm sure the artist who did wouldn't appreciate that...

Honestly, ranting and threatening to quit won't affect the game. One person out of millions?
And as Rascall said, it is a bit disrespectful to Howrse who worked hard with art and coding, just because you're upset about "no promos", which in fact there will be "promos" (now called festivities) after our goal is reached.

I'm a little confused about where these 'normal' (by normal I just mean the type of ones we've prevously had such as the cards, horse parade, piñatas, etc) are going to fit in to the system. If we have a Great Challenge and then a lottery each time, is there also another promotion after the lottery?

Correct, they mentioned in the blog other promos like, the card game for example, could take place afterwards. The Big Challenge thing is more just to delay in between promos than to be a promo in and of itself.

I am most disappointed with the decreae in the Grand Prix payoff. It is (was) one of the things that I logged in to do everyday. I know by now that Howrse dosen't chance it's new orders. I loved to get the Grand Prix everyday. So disappointed with the new decrease

A lot of them have for me as well, like the Morgan coat. It's growing on me and the Vanner I'm actually liking, not as much as the original but still. The only one I have a problem with is still the QH/Paint/Criollo/App, it still looks off and the Friesian's head is just...eh...

We have objectives to complete each day in the Challenge, we just don't get items like we use to. Instead you're given shoes to unlock the Promo. The message thing, I don't mind. Instead of just saying 'they're hideous', why not actually give constructive criticism like where there can be improvement. Remember that someone is paid to do the work and has worked hard on those images, bashing them without reason does no good for the artist or game.

I hear you. I have actually started breeding the Morgan. Not going super fast, but I have bred my second one. They deserve a lot more love, and I actually like blupping them. I wonder why I never bred them before.
The worst are still the Fry indeed.
Still juggling way too many breeds - feeling a little lost actually - while trying to make up my mind what breed to focus on after the coat change.


Here's me hoping they will adjust the Big Challenge part a little

I love them, I breed both crosses and pures of them. I've actually been able to do quite well with them even though I come across the top Morgan team fairly often. With my crosses, I do mostly Western so there's much fewer of them. Classicals ones like my Morabs and pures, I have to be very picky. There's a good number of breeds that need a bit more love, like the Barb.

I hate all the free stuff the new players are getting. I am sure it will cause people to multi account to get free stuff.
