Howrse has typically sent out a PM to players with VIP over the years offering them a code they can input on the pass page that gives them a gift. Typically a brand new uni breed is a gift, then also a Hestia's, if I remember right. I think a couple years ago they did offer a few months of free VIP. Not sure what else they've offered.
