Oh I really hope this doesn't happen the way I'm reading it. If it's just apply 'x amount of coats' and 'x amount of companions' I honestly see Howrse LOSING money. People spend a ton collecting specific companions and specific coats, if they're all worth the same thing suddenly, will there really be a reason to collect them? I don't care if Jade and the family of rainbows are winnable, this does NOT make me want to collect trophies.

Just another voice to say how asinine it is that the coat collection/customization trophies will not transfer over. So much REAL money has been invested in those collections, just to have them wiped out? It's absolutely unacceptable, and I would almost wonder if any legal concerns *could* arise, should a player try to go that route. I'm not an avid collector, but many of my friends on this game are. For those of us who have been here since the early days (some on our original accounts, or some of us who have come back after some time away), what a slap in the face to all the time, money, and effort spent. Particularly with the retired apple coats, this is a nightmare.

Respectfully, I feel that we should wait for clarification before we jump to conclusions on this, for all we could know we have read it wrong and these coats will be credited the exact same way as they have been currently. Or, if they were going to be scrapped, there is still time to give feedback and tell the developers why they should stay.

I feel that linking prizes to trophies is a step in the right direction and a positive change, but I also feel that the positives have been overshadowed by the fact that the trophies might be being removed as a whole, including ones that took a lot of time and money to achieve.

Hey guys, Friendly Family Nalu here. I'm taking advantage of this being the top of the page to give you a couple more Tips about the event that is starting soon, so that we all try our best to get at least a Divine this coming Christmas season. default smiley (l)

What you should do as SOON as it starts:
Click to display
The event is Time Sensitive, so you might want to make sure you'll be here at the start to complete your Tutorial as fast as possible.

The Tutorial will take you through a couple of passages, will force you to Upgrade Bushy the first time and then after a while it'll let you go.

THAT is the moment in which you go back to the Advent Calendar and open ALL the Windows you have left behind. If you're lucky, you'll find a candy cane or two.
If you don't, don't panic, you'll find them in the remaining 15 windows.

Now, let's talk Upgrades.
This is what I would recommend you upgrade, but keep in mind that you might want to tailor the experience to your own time availability.
Click to display
- First upgrade: TUTORIAL, Energy capacity
- Regeneration Time Improvement
- Regeneration Time Improvement
- Repair Power Improvement
- Energy capacity
- Repair Power Improvement
- Regeneration Time Improvement
- Repair Power Improvement
- Energy capacity

As I said, this was my personal experience, but you might want to change it to your tastes. For example, if you are not online a lot you might invest in the Energy capacity a bit earlier and so on.

I have not invested in Regeneration Time III immediately because the candy sink was not comparable to the reward we obtain. Regeneration time has a very diminishing return on investment (the last two upgrades are 1h30 and 1h respectively), so while significant, I still got more benefits upgrading the repair power by room 60, where T-Rexes (4 lives, 6 repair power needed) were getting more and more frequent.

General Tips:
Click to display
- ALWAYS go for the candy. If you see a Candy in the room you're in, always go for it. You can come back and get prizes later, but missing an upgrade will be a serious detriment to you. If you see a Candy, give up everything and get the Candy.

- The Candies are COUNTED, and they also include the ones you get from the Advent calendar. Do not skip your advent calendar.

- ALWAYS check the top of the door you want to go through. Every door has a Repair power needed (at the bottom) but most importantly, an Energy Per Repair value at the top. Sometimes the door with more repair power is NOT the door that will take up more energy.

- You can get Glaedelig Jul for FREE. It is entirely possible to get the Christmas horse for free.

- You can enter and leave any Lab at will, and your progress will be saved. This is very important if you don't want to miss out on upgrades, but you'd rather go for another Divine instead of Glaedelig Jul.

Again, while sabotaging myself quite spectacularly, I still got to more than half in half the time we have, so I am sure you all will do great and take home the Divine you want.

Take care and love you all default smiley (l)

Oh no no no no...i cannot look further into this at the moment, but please do not "overhaul" and ruin the trophy system! Winning prizes is not the point of trophies...trophies ARE the prize! There are other contests to win prizes...the near constant promos and weekend offers, packs, earning and working divines, etc. I love collecting the trophies the way they are, and this might just turn me off to it. Why can't they leave it alone? It does not need to be scrapped and started from scratch! A saying that i use a lot in real life is if its not broke, don't fix it! If i lose out on any of my progress that i have worked on and been building up for a long time, which has taken time and money, or if they start "resetting" i'm gonna be pretty hot!default smiley :kdefault smiley (li)

For now, since i don't understand things for sure, i'll try to reserve judgement. But that will be pretty difficult, because from what it currently sounds like to me, this will be a very unwelcome change for a very unhappy me.default smiley :@

I’m with you on this one, I’d personally rather opt out if it meant keeping my progress. it almost seems like they’re rehashing the old objectives, which I would have enjoyed if they hadn’t messed with the trophies in the process, or had combined the two in a less destructive way.

We don’t know how the collection page will work, and if they do it well it could be a saving grace, however I’m a little scared that they’ll just be shoved onto the current collections page (ick)

I’m normally pretty chill with the changes howrse makes, but I’ll admit I’m feeling quite put out by this one

Players thought the foundies and pass/objectives system was too ridiculous to be implemented and developers would listen to their feedback…

Enforced Tarpan? (assuming one is 'lucky' enough to get him as a trophy prize)
That is the one divine I do not EVER want to own. Is there a way to not accept the prize yet still move on to the next trophy goal, does anyone know? Or is this howrse's way of improving sales of hera packs?

Yeah, that's going to be a problem. I love the idea of rewards for the trophies, but I don't love the idea that collected coats will not count, especially when you consider that some aspects will. In my personal opinion, if they added coats to the ones that stay current I think there won't be anywhere near the amount of backlash that this feature will end up getting if it is added like this.

I'm honestly really surprised that they have decided to attempt to change the coat collection side of the game again, with how people responded to that item that was going to be added several years back, which would have allowed players to get another copy of an already retired coat. Due to the backlash it was scrapped, so with luck this will be changed as well if they get the same amount of backlash.

This game is not Genies&Gems
We don't need flashing pop-ups
We dont need ugly generic "progress" trophies that all look alike, and are designed to pit players against one another.
We like working on whichever segment on the game makes us happy, whether that be Grand Prix, or all the breeds, or GA coats, or the wanderer and bonus items, or Unicorns or companions.
Don't lump these features into generic catagories
All you will be doing is encouraging scripts and bot play

I have been playing Howrse since the late 2012 on the Swedish server. Ever since, my biggest interest has been collecting Golden apples/retired coats. I have spent A LOT of my savings on rare coats and most of my gameplay was collecting coats and collect trophies. To be honest, it is probably for that reason I'm still playing the game.

I know there's tons of players who have spent real money on their collections, and for what? For them all to be deleted? It is so unfair. PLEASE do not go through with this update... There has been bad updates before where the opinions of the players were not accounted for, please listen to us now...

As stated above, there's no issue with the current trophies. I really like the nostalgic look on them. The main idea is probably decent, but the execution is awful.

They won't be deleted, but

we don't know what the current coat, companion, etc. will look like on the new page either.

Those trophies you do currently have now will be transferred to the new Collections page, rather than to the new Trophies page (which I may accidentally call the "Achievements" page, as that's what it feels like to me)

So just to clarify,
Click to display
The coat collections trophies and companion trophies will be transferred over? Or will they start from scratch? If it’s implemented how they put it on the test server of course. I know you can’t guarantee exactly what howrse will do. Just to the best of your knowledge.
I’m only asking because I’m 4 companions away from completing the regular companions trophy. Definitely don’t want to use passes or equus if they are not going to be transferred

So very confusing. I’m not ready to just assume they will really implement such a drastic change and not give credit for what we already have... however, it wouldn’t surprise me if they did.

The image Spyder posted on this page or the previous is
Click to display
the new Trophes page, which will not include the Companions etc. trophies. These are more like achievements, so we will have to apply GAs and companions to get these new trophies..

The Companion, coat, etc. trophies we all have now will instead be on the Collections page that we can't yet see.
It sounds like we will have all those current trophies on the Collections page (basically, we're still credited for them, but they're not called "trophies" anymore. )
Whether this Collections page will look like the trophy icons we have now, we do not know.
Regardless, they will *not* be deleted, from what the update says

This is reassuring! Thanks for clarifying, as I didn't realize they were going to keep a Collections page in addition to the trophies. I feel a good deal better about it now! default smiley :)

Could someone please tell me what time (or how many hours after the update) the next event will start? I’m going to be at work probably and I need to know when I have to sneak into the back. Thank you in advance!

So yes, they're just renaming them as Collections as I guessed yesterday. The new trophies are achievements.

I hope this helps default smiley :)
