Oh, my! But I thought drafts couldn't recieve Medusa's blood? If that was really true, then why did Howrse even dreate these images?

And maybe they will be unicorns one day...

Perhaps...

It's possible that they made the images as a test to see how they would look (in my opinion - the Pegasus ones look okay, but the unicorn ones...the horn looks more like a bad photoshop job than anything (yes, the URLs are legit - but this is one where I feel the Howrse Artists need to do a little more work before calling it complete). After looking a bit closer - I believe the wings/horn used the same layer format as those for regular horses (which due to the size difference would be why they don't quite match up if you look at the full layers of images)

Likewise, it's possible that Pegasus Drafts will be added later on. All we can do is wait and see.

As a matter of fact;

Click to display
"Draft horses can be equipped and participate in the same competition as conventional horses."

So this means that Yes, you'll find Drafts in competitions open to all horses, and the chance is high that they'll also have their own Draft Only category like any other breed.

As for the skills - remember that when first added, they'll be foundation horses - and it will only be through breeding and BLUPing that the skills go up over time. Also - considering the limited coverings, and the fact they can not be cross bred with regular horses (like some people do to have the best horse of a new breed when it first comes out)...it might take awhile for Drafts to reach the level of the other horses on the game.

Also - it states that they only earn twice as much skills from doing missions...so this means that the training for them will (probably) progress the same as horses (slower with WoY - Faster with a Cronos' Timer, etc). Basically - I wouldn't worry too much about the skills of Drafts for awhile.

default smiley <:o)I'm not underestimating them...just stating a small observation. I'll be honest and admit when I say awhile, and knowing past experiences...I give it just over a week before they are on par with the current horses due to people who will just drop everything in favor of BLUPing and Breeding Drafts (that's awhile to some, right?)

If twice the skills from lessons means each of the two top skills earn up to 178.5 points each then that would make drafts serious contenders! They could be behind by over 200GP and still beat their counterparts in the Grand Prix.

If the screen-cap of the skill layout is correct...

then they would make near perfect barrel racers.

On the French version of the wikipendia article for the breed there is actually a lot more information than on the English version - if you scroll 2/3 of the way down there is:

Click to display
an actual picture of a Percheron labeled "Percheron mounted Barrel Racing, United States"! My mind is blown default smiley xd

The skills required for cutting comps is stamina, dressage and speed (in that order)... Given how high the speed is for the Percheron I can see how they would make great cutting horses, but whether it's high enough to overcome the problem of lessons going towards speed (the 3rd ranked skill) rather than dressage (the 2nd ranked skill) is an interesting question. Having said that, I don't know how much the dressage and speed contribute to the outcome of a cutting competition - they could contribute the exact same for all I know, in which case it doesn't matter that dressage doesn't get the lesson skills.
I hope some day Howrse tells us how competition outcomes are calculated default smiley (8)

How will the Drafts be released? Will they be in the reserved sales for every player or will only a few be selected to own them at first or what

I think someone quoted a post that contained a screen capture of his page along with a few other images a few pages back... I'm not sure what the original context was, but the images were of old things.

An image of Opal and the promotion he was released in from earlier on in the Spoiler Zone (from the first few pages) surfaced in the recent pages - bringing up questions like if he'll be re-released, if that's a new promo, etc. That's basically why (and is what happens any time something like that happens (that is, old information brought forth)

Like any other breed - they will be added to the game via

Click to display
A promotional event. The Percheron will be added as a prize in the Maze promotion that will happen sometime in May most likely if the Time Line is to be believed/not changed

The first breed of drafts will be released in a promo, as a gift. The promo is a maze containing different kinds of gifts, and if you find your way out of the maze, you will get the new rainbow divine Lovely Blue.

Does anyone else feel like the maze promo is a bit like the Magic Ride except with the limited sight range of the map and there being only one big map instead? I just noticed many of the things such as the presents and being able to move on the map remind me of that promo.
By Retired breeder, 19th April 2015 22:49:31
So they'll be like Divines until players are able to breed them? Also, what exactly is the Map(I haven't been around this topic lately default smiley (lol))?

I like the way the

horn and wings are for the drafts. Maybe Pegisi babies will come next! Or Lippinzanner unicorns. Either would be cool.

Perhaps - but until we start testing here - we won't know for sure (it only reminds me of it a little to be honest)

No, Drafts are going to be like normal horses from the start (so able to breed, enter comps, etc. The only difference is they are like Donkeys and can only breed 3 times in their lives, and only with other Drafts).

As for the Map...

Click to display
Alwarion's post just above yours actually has the screen shot showing the "map" of the Maze (which is the Promotion in which the Percheron will be added

That's true ShoraNagi. I can't wait to see what it turns out as when testing runs and after. I don't know why exactly it reminds me of that but just a few aspects seem the same to me. I think I will be enjoying this new promo!
Retired breeder wrote:

Same here - It's nice to see a fully new promotion pop up every once in awhile - rather than the same old Puzzles, Click events, Cards, etc.

Though at the same time - I also feel like I'd rather see a return of some of the other promotions we have not had in awhile.

Ah well, all we can do is wait and see what the future holds.

Has anyone heard if there will be a TC promo soon? I've heard that the time during a TC promo is the best time to trade for a Hermes Winged Staff. Is that true? Also I don't know if this is the right topic but in Game Play someone would have said to come here. Thanks!
