Weird mare leg reflex

I know the title might sound weird, sorry about that.

My mare has been doing this really weird thing with her back legs, she kinda lifts them up as high as they can go for a few seconds and stomps them back down. Trying to describe it is a little tricky, but I was just wondering if any horse people on here know why she would be doing that.

Thank you!

Please ask your vet to examine your mare. What you describe sounds like stringhalt, but you should have your vet take a look.

Oh Lordy, I've done some research and that's what she seems to have, I'm trying to see if we can find a way to treat it. Thank you.

She may have a “sticky” stifle where they tend to lock up and a lot of times they’ll stomp or even buck to get it unlocked

My mare is a Tennessee walker and she had the same problem, it got so bad I ended up having to call the vet out to get her stifles cut and since then she has been completely fine!
