I'm 27 and for over a year now ive been introduced into the rodeo scene, my boyfriend is really big into team roping and been teaching me and im learning barrels as well.
I spent most of my life on the east coast, growing up on a farm, riding gaited horses while riding western trail riding and then spent a few years learning English during the summer.
Now im way out west in the desert learning from his cowboy lifestyle and it's been such a blessing experience and such a difference! but I truly enjoy it,
what does everyone else do that rides?
id love to hear everyone else's stories

I do kind of feel like it’s hard though because I don’t really know anyone in those circles, and it seems like a lot of kids have been riding/around horses their whole life. I don’t know, I hope it’s not too late for me.

I'm 28, have been riding since I was 2
I grew up in the northeast USA on an Arabian breeding and training facility, where I assisted with stablekeeping, grooming, training, breeding, showing, and so on. I bred my horse through that facility - an Arabian x Hackney Pony gelding - and still have him today, almost 18 years later. I went on to manage a rescue and lesson facility where I stablekept and gave lessons as well for a couple of years before moving to Florida to work at an equine vet clinic. I have ridden and shown a little bit of just about everything over the years, and will continue to add more
My passion is definitely the saddle horses - Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians... I'm also working with a Dutch Harness mare bringing her up through the levels of Dressage now.

I ride strictly quarter horses (not against other breeds but our state really only has opportunity for QH competitions) I show ranch versatility and hunter under saddle. It’s quite the combination with my 14.2 cowhorse and my 17.2 hunter under saddle horse. We also ranch so my cow horse not only shows but he knows how to work cattle on harsh terrain and lots of long days of tough work.

I'v been riding for a little over two years and love it. I like forward horses and would love to do showjumping In the future. I don't have a horse but would love to get one preferably a rescue.
