Most players won't know what they are, as they are really old - but they were the original stable rugs for horses, before we got super duper multi-weight easy-attach stain resistant fab rugs we have now.
Jute rugs were made of sack cloth, weight a ton when dry, and were like concrete when wet, and had leather straps to do them up, which never fitted !
