This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

I'm most enamored with the 200 use riding horse, and especially the 300 use green & purple winged unicorn pony. It is absolutely adorable, and the face is really well done. Shame it's such an obscure species default smiley (8)

Yeah, lately more and more limited creations are getting in game and most of them are 100 copies. That's the reason why I'm trying to make them for 200 copies (like my riding water horse) or higher right now, because sometimes is impossible to get some of 100 ones.

Same, used up all 14ish harmony packs I had saved up. I feel like I can’t even use them for normal horses anymore because the releases are so big. default smiley :(

Well, got the 12 I was going for. Actually went by pretty slowly. Only had 6 GAs and allowed myself to spend 600p. I would've gone for more if I had more BMI buttttt default smiley (8)

I got all of them except one, and that's just cause I didn't get a chance to buy that particular pony in time. That was a mad scramble! Guess I'll be up late burning the midnight oil.

wow, that was incredibly easy to get the coats I wanted. I even picked up 2 extras at 5:05!! My favorite is the unicorn winged draft - snowy with stick wings. Perfect for my brand new Percheron unicorn!

First time VIP for the coats. Are only half the coats available for VIP? For instance, is that why I can’t place a coat on my horse that already has 50/100 copies?

In the case of limited edition coats, the VIP release can take only up to 50% of the copies of one coat- so that for the normal release other players have a chance too default smiley :)

I'm glad it went good for all of you...for me it was infuriating. The game was lagging for me, and i missed four of the 100 use ones i wanted, and i was only going for around half of them to begin withdefault smiley :(

On the positive side, some of my favorites from this release are among the 200-500 use coats, so i was easily able to get those!

Please please please make the number of limited use coats smaller in the future! And pour everything Howrse can into fixing the lag that is oh so frustrating on a normal day, let alone release day!default smiley :'(

I want 3 of them thankfully just the pony has 100 uses that I want. I also like the first riding horse 200 use and draft horse 500 use.

I don't really mind the huge releases! It helps me realize that I dont need them all, but I have fun picking the favorites and setting the alarm!

It's fun to look for them in sales, and I support the bigger limited releases! I like to have my projects and get other coats too default smiley (lol)

What's the RC you spent the most on?

Hmm, I once won an auction for 7k-8k passes for a rare RC, however another player who was bidding reached out to me and asked if I was interested in a trade. Suffice to say I was really interested when she offered a long-time favorite!

Oh this is even harder to figure out lol. I did buy one for less than 300k equus a couple years ago, but I don't have that one anymore, but I do have another cheapie.

Let's see, this one has the least uses.


However, this one is pretty unique in my opinion! I never thought I would like a RC based on a salad default smiley (lol)

What RC "defines" your collection/style?

I really like dark themes and colors, horror, natural or animal themed coats, just about anything that isn't pretty, pink and sparkly lol. This is by far a favorite design, and I would love more coats like this!

What RC did it take the longest for you to get?

I did a lot of buying and selling when I was younger, so I've sold a lot of coats I miss now, but I did finally obtain this one for the first time, as far as I can remember!

Absolutely...that is the upside to having larger releases...more beautiful coats! I'm certainly not against that. As a collector though, i feel immense pressure to try to get them all, and it stresses me out, and makes my anxiety flare up. I guess for me, maybe its too much of a good thing? Like too much cake makes your tummy hurt or something. I don't know ha ha. I'm usually "financially challenged" lol, so getting them from the sales is not an option i can typically afford. My whole strategy involves getting as many as possible BEFORE they retire. Its hard for me to sit back and simply think i don't NEED them all, when the deep-seated collector in me is screaming go for it!default smiley xd

And of course a huge release might even mean that some of the ordinary players who dont have VIP actually have a chance of snagging one or two in the normal release.

Amen Famousamos. The ONLY reason I still play Howrse is to continue to collect the coats. Which means every single one. All to keep my collection drool worthy.

I agree though that some not limited edition are stunning and I don't buy them anymore because resources all go towards the limited. It's hard to choose

Yay got all of them, it was easy enough surprisingly.. Even though my laptop lagged several times reloading the pages. We used to have big releases all the time few years ago, it used to be shocking when it was a small one. Now it's the opposite lol. I don't mind the big releases if I can be there to get the coats.. But if I have work and can't get them, and then try to find them for nice price in sales can be frustrating. I will miss out on many coats that way I think.

That was more or less a surprisingly chill release, although that probably had to do with my only having 10 GAs and a whopping 14 passes because of the divine trails. Got everything I wanted plus one for a friend.

I wasn't a fan of all the coats released this time but it seemed to be going slow for the winged pony and draft unis, I ended up using the horses I had set up for the 200 use ones on extra copies so I can try and earn back some of the passes I spent. I even had time to grab some cheap ones from sales to put the coat on too
