This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

Fairly pleased: I missed the black pegasus totally, but between the two releases I got at least one of everything else.

Actually got the 200 use peggy just before todays release as some of yesterday's were still there when I set up for today.

Today I had the draft up first (since I missed it yesterday and it's my fave of the 100s). Got that. Black peggy next: already gone! Fjord, already gone. Got the palamino/flaxen pony. Checked the directory, saw the donkey was nearly gone. Got two of that including the last!

Might get another 200 peggy if it's still going (and if I can bear to age and wing another pony!)... I do like that one. I've been putting it on cremellos which I think suits the slightly pinky base colour it is.,

I've already had to buy several medusas for equus in the exchanges! Lot of winged ones today!

I'm sort of glad people aren't 'underselling' it, though I am glad I was able to get the one copy I wanted for myself. If I had one to sell I'd be annoyed if I couldn't sell it for a good price.

(Don't think I can say more on that subject without risking breaking some rules!)

Whew, those coats went about as fast as i have ever seen! But thankfully, somehow or other, i managed to get the last two i needed. But boy i came close to losing out!default smiley :o

I've been having success in the recent releases and (at the risk of making things more challenging for myself) I thought I might share a few tips for coat release. Loosely organized:

1. Plan what horses you're putting coats on, and open each of them in a separate tab (but not window) ~5 minutes before release. Don't do it via opening the coat from the creation space page, as I find that the horse search option glitches out and you might put the coat on the wrong horse, or not at all. Use Ctrl+Tab to navigate between pages.

2. Have your search pre-selected. For the pre-release, make sure it's sorted by Chronology and have "limited edition" ticked. For the normal release, favorite the coats you're getting beforehand and have "added to my favorite creations" ticked in addition to "limited edition". This helps avoid putting a wrong coat on, and the page is less cluttered.

3. To refresh the search when coats come out (starting on the hour for pre-release, and starting exactly 5 minutes after the hour for normal release), tick/un-tick the "compatible with Helios' Ray" box. This will refresh the coats you see without deleting your search or changing the order of any coats displayed.

4. I'd say something concrete about the order of the coats you put on, but it varies from month to month. Plain riding horses usually go the fastest, maybe followed by drafts and riding unicorns, whereas donkeys tend to go slower and plain ponies go the slowest. But it also depends heavily on the quality of the coats offered. A really pretty pony unicorn coat might retire first. If you can watch the speed of the pre-release, that will often but not always indicate the speed of the normal release. (This month, I think the pony uni was first or second in the pre-release but the last to retire in the normal release.) If you're coating to keep, put the most important coats first.

5. If you have a laptop, don't use the trackpad. I prefer to use a touchscreen, but a USB mouse would work almost as well. And it goes without saying, have the best internet connection you can. Sit by the router or use an ethernet cable if that helps.

Closing remarks: judging from the timestamps on my Discord messages, the normal release took less than 60 seconds for me to coat 6 horses (everything I had lined up) and I was close to the wire on the last ones. So expect the release to run under 2 minutes for the last coat to retire, and about 1 minute for the first coat to retire. But with a good internet connection and good planning, hopefully you can get the coats you want (:

I fell asleep a couple hours before pre release and woke up a few hours after... default smiley (d) Not only that, but I also managed to only get one of the unis, when I wanted all 3... Hopefully I'll be luckier next month. default smiley :$

I just bought the back uni out of sales last night as I knew I'd miss second release, although it grieves me to have to do so. Seems to be coming a common occurrence too, new system doesn't help but clearly far more people are accessing the perk in order to flip the coats default smiley :-x

I definitely didn't completely forget about coat release, log in and remember and get mad at myself default smiley (lol) Nope, not me.
I did manage to snag that pegasus pony just now though, it was only like 7 copies left so it'll be retired any minute now. It's not a huge loss thankfully as it was a small release, but I'll probably treat myself and buy one or two in sales.

My alarm didn't go off (I see I wasn't the only one), so I missed release. What did I do instead? Go into the sales and buy a consolation prize for myself. At least it finishes off the RC species trophy for me... plus it's my first fray coat!

I know I shouldn't brag, but I saved for this horse for SO LONG.
I missed her the first time they released her, in 2011 (insert italics here) !!!
And I didn't think I'd never ever ever ever get my hands on a copy, because they're so rare, but here it is.
In the sales.

Wow, that is gorgeous...wish I had one now ha ha. Seeing as how I was not yet playing in 2011, and it is rare, I sadly dont have it in my collection yet. Also, the matching ray you put it on is an excellent combination! It appears they have the same creator and are made for each other, which makes it perfect...i was never aware of the matching coat for that ray. Congrats on your new beauty!

I totally want that combo now too ha ha...maybe ignorance was bliss!default smiley xd Seriously though, i love to try and match up everything i can on a horse...breed, coat, both regular and GA, ray, companion, name, affix...sigh.
