See!

Don't worry.
You know how the players do it in the creation space right? They create a "rough draft" and think about ways to make it clearer and more detailed. The teke and possibly welsh MIGHT be an almost finished product. default smiley :)

Most coats are ok, but I can't say that the Gypsy change is beautimous at all....

They have a more 3d look to them p, kind of.
My personal opinion is that howrse can and should do whatever it wants. We are playing their game, and many of us don't pay them a cent.

However, if they are taking alterations into consideration on the coats, I think the necks of many breeds need the most work. The current friesian is great. The new one? The neck and mane are not as natural or healthy looking as the current coat. Also it is easy to see that tack will be added to the game very soon. You can see in the new coats that many breeds have an extra long back - longer than before - or the pattern of the image is more blank where a saddle would go. I am not sure how I feel about this. I want to keep the current images that we have on the game, because I think they all are good (except maybe the KWPN). It would be nice if howrse could give us the option of which style we want to see, like they did the first time they ever changed the coats. But if all of these test designs were to become the new real coats on the game, nothing would change for me and I would accept it and continue to play my game the same way I have been.

Hm. To feel better I have a project on doing greyscales on all the breeds default smiley :p To make my own versions, make them look like I was imagining the coats to look like default smiley xd It will take like 10000 years or something but hey, I have a project 8D

Anyways, I'm still waiting to see how it all turns out. Like. We'll get used to it no matter what.... Like with everything else. I'm just glad the heads look better now, some of the old heads looked rather. eh. Weird.

I've been scrolling through the pages so sorry if I missed it, but does anyone know if the showing tack on the horses will be optional or not?

Upps.Guys, the previous posted thing by me about is not accurate,Howrse team have changed their mind and posted THIS NEW update of that old idea:

Hello everyone,

Following all your comments and after discussing the initial customisation priority review at length among ourselves we have come to a decision.

Here is what will be happening in effect:

- We abandon the rule where putting a Medusa's blood on your horse after a golden Apple removes the Golden Apple. Things remain as they are for the moment on the game.

- The pegasus that wear a Golden Apple that isn't from the Pegasus specie remain as they are. There will be no compensation with Medusa's Bloods as they remain on the horses.

- The new bonus values for the 5th Element remain.

- The BONUS rule modification REMAINS.

If you place a Special Coat item over another Special Coat item the bonus from the last item applies.

So if you put a:

Golden Apple on a 5th Element => The horse has the Golden Apple Bonus
Bewitched Pumpkin on a Golden Apple => The horse has the Bewitched Pumpkin Bonus
Bewitched Pumpkin on a Splint Boot => The horse has the Bewitched Pumpkin Bonus
Splint Boot on a Golden Apple => The horse has the Splint Boot Bonus
5th Element on a Bewitched Pumpkin => The horse has the 5th Element Bonus
Etc...

The Medusa's Blood ISN'T a special coat item
Your horses can't combine bonuses from Special Coat items by stacking them.

By special coat items i mean Diamond Apples, Golden Apples, Bewitched Pumpkins, 5th Elements, Splint Boots

That is all that will finally be coming with next update
Thank you for being patient with us.
Ow

SOO this all will happen with ..the next update which is 24:00 GT right
To all people repeating that howrse is still "reworking coats"

Could you please tell me who normal would be going to rework coat that they already colored in 10-20 different colors... to the stage they'll have to change coloring once again? (because that's how it would look with some of the breeds)

From my experience... you DON'T color grayscale, that isn't perfect... reworking it later is a pain in neck.

If they're doing it... I really don't get the way their graphic artist think... or how much they pay him/her to work in this kind of mess...

It's just... just a mess.

Very well said. You stole the words right out of my mouth. default smiley (lol)default smiley (y) I was having a hard time accepting what they may end up looking like, but I do see a few improvements in the coats from what they are now. Yes, there are some coats where it seems as if Howrse has taken a step backward instead of forward. I wasn't here when we did voting for the new coats, as I was taking a quick break from the site, but I most likely would have voted yes. The problem is that we don't like change. Well, why did you vote to have the coats updated then? It will be a fun adventure, and we are all along for the ride. Some of us were hear when we had the V1 coats. Would you still like to have the same coats? I know I wouldn't. I do, however, disagree with the fact that Howrse isn't/doesn't read our opinions. Why not? Why not get feedback on your work, and take the criticism to improve your art? That would be the most logical thing to do. Oh well, we can't make them. This is a free game, and they are free to change it as they see fit.

Overall, I hope Howrse changes some of the coats a bit more. I know they aren't official and yes, we did vote to have them changed. I just wish, the coats would have more personality. It seems as if Howrse is simply taking away the personality of the coats. Most of the new ones are just standing, facing straight ahead. Just there to represent the color and attempt to look like the actual horse(which most of them don't).

Our current coats have personality that just makes you love them. The posing Marwari and Akhal-Tekes, the relaxed Lusitano, the plush Shetland...and many others. This is why we love them so much.

Maybe they were seeing how to get the optimial shading?

Or these coats (they were on the test server, right?) might just be samples they are working out glitches with.

Some of us wish...@paranoya is right. Why go through all the trouble to color the coats and just decide to change them again.

Well, I don't think they would put them on the test server "uncolored".

I suppose not. You could be right (hopefully you are). I just don't think they will be making any drastic changes. But, maybe they will. We will just have to wait and see.
