No, if the food and other people change as well to gold.

The story of King Midas goes like so:
King Midas did something for one of the gods and, in return, was given the choice of any gift. He chose the gift that everything he touched turned to gold. For a while, this seemed cool. But later he started to doubt. Every time he touched food, it turned to gold. Blankets: Gold. Clothes: Gold. But it was to get worse. At dinner one night, his daughter ran up to hug him and was immediately turned to gold. The king was heartbroken and pleaded with the gods to restore her. They took pity on him and told him that whatever he washed in the river by him home would turn normal again. He turned everything normal again. The end default smiley :)

Hmmm I'm wondering if Midas and Croesus will be grouped together as they're both greek divines dealing with money, maybe they'll be family. I'm also curious as to what Midas does.

Did a little digging and found this online: Croesus (pronounced 'KREE-sus') was the King of Lydia, a country in western Asia Minor (corresponding to modern-day Turkey) from 560-547 BCE and was so wealthy that the old expression "as rich as Croesus" originates in reference to him. His wealth, it is said, came from the sands of the River Pactolus in which the legendary King Midas washed his hands to rid himself of the 'Midas Touch' (which turned everything he laid hands on into gold) and in so doing, the legend says, made the sands of the river rich with gold. Perhaps they will be grouped together.

Well, all your food would turn to gold so you'd probably starve. You couldn't ever hug someone without killing them, and your life would be pretty miserable! default smiley (lol)
