Remember that there is a bit of a delay between click times.

For example - say your clicks are at 3a - 6a - 9a - 12p - 3p - 6p - 9p - 12a

I find its most helpful (and least amount of lost sleep) to do the following:

Stay up until 12 am to make these clicks
Go to bed - but set your alarm for 5:50 in the morning
Waking up at 5:50 still allows you time to make your 3 am clicks, and you are already awake for your 6 am clicks.
You can then go back to bed - and not have to wake up until sometime before 12p to get in your 9 am click...or just stay up and start your day

I've used this in the past to great effect - and had very little issues with loss of sleep.
