@Serpentine -it is because the fjords currently have a disadvantage compared to other breeds, this is why they had to work more to gain enough gp to keep up with other teams. I have experience with this, as I've bred fjords at top tier for the past four years.
Therefore we will gain a temporary advantage so we can recover lost ground. However this advantage could be a few days, a week or a month. We have no idea.
Why is it that they have a disadvantage, though? Is it due to the skillset or something?

In the master post, there isn't anything that says it expires, so it should be like the Golden Apple.

The next promo is the one with the V___ A___, which starts on September 8th and lasts for one day. After that, the C___ promo should start on the 9th or 10th.

Far as I know - it does not and it will remain until you use it unless Howrse states otherwise.

Next promotion to arrive is Owlient's 10th Birthday Celebration (The promo that will give us the Vintage Apple) - that will happen September 8th, 2015 (and onyl run for 1 day)
Sometime after this (possibly the same day or after) - the Continents Cards will start.

@ Serpentine
It is because the breed has not developed very well. Take a look at some of the top teams and the horses they produce. It isn't the same. Fjords have much lower GP, and Howrse wants all the horses to be similar in GP. In other words, Fjords are at an disadvantage due to low GP. They are going to get a boost to even things up.

A lot people did - however, none of us wrote them down (they are very easy to figure out - the only reason I wrote them down later was because I knew players would start insisting to know what they were).

I think the problem with no. 9 was that - by the time we thought to write them down - Clue no. 8 (the one involving a horse with a September birthday) started to glitch and prevented us from completing it to get to No. 9 before testing for the promotion ended.
Rest assured however that all the clues are easy enough to figure out and pull off - so even if you don't have a 'cheat sheet' for some of them - you can still figure them out. On testing - even with a glitch at first - it took me no longer than 10 minutes to find the Candles and get the VA.

Here you go - pictures of Amira's Figurine (as well as the contents of the Amira Pack courtesy of the UK version of Howrse:
*As it is cut off, these are the Figurine characteristics:
Figurine numbered from 1 to 500
Dimensions: 17.85 x 11.35 x 17.8cm
Weight: 1kg
Material: resin
Between the two that have been made (Amira and Altair) - I feel Altair is much better detailed than Amira (I'm seriously reminded of one of those 'Paint your own plaster' statues with her) - Still, the figurines are nice.

Shorah, I agree with you about Altair's figurine being the prettier one. The Amira one seems so... cheap. Even if I did live in one of the countries where I could get the pack and even if I did have the money to spend on it, I certainly wouldn't.

It could be that she's simpler in design. I still kinda like it and curse that I can't get it due to being in the US and being broke.

Yes, but Altair still looks very life like. I mean, even if you removed the tack off of both of them, Altair would look like he could be a real horse, at least in my opinion.
