You don't 'move on' per say - you just keep digging in the same 10 spots. Each spot allows you to dig 3 times before it 'resets' and you can then dig again.

You can dig in the same spot over and over again - you can move around...It really doesn't matter as Bones, Relics, Prizes and Traps can be found in any hole at any 'level'.

So I could find everything by digging in the same plot because it resets or sooner or later I'll stop finding things and have to move around? Are they in the same places for everyone, and is there an answer key if so?

To my knowledge when you dig on a site you can either get 1. nothing; 2. a trap; 3. a bone; or 4. a gift. So if you want you can continue to dig in the same spot the whole promo if you want.

There are no 'cheats' per say in this one - as it is incredibly luck based:

Take this image for example -

Notice that I've dug up equus at Hole 6 - one layer down. However, someone else digging in that spot might find a Relic, another might find a Bone, etc.

What you find at what spot, at what level - is random.

You could keep digging at Hole 6 and get:

Bone, Relic, Trap, Relic, Relic, Relic, Bone, 1,000e prize, Trap, Relic

Someone else might keep digging there and get:

Bone, Bone, Bone, 5th element Prize, Trap, Relic, Bone, Bone, Relic, 20x Mash Prize

Likewise, someone who is digging at every spot might get:

Bone, Relic, Trap, Relic, Relic, Relic, Bone, 1,000e prize, Trap, Relic

In short - there really is no cheat or any sort of strategy to this...As I posted earlier, the best advice I can give in regards to this as any sort of strategy is:


1. Before trading for your next tool - use ALL your digs for the day with your current tool. On preprod - I had the Oxygen Tank, which gives 15 digs a day. I used 5 of them (so 10 left), then traded for the Diving Suit (20 digs). Now, rather than having 30 digs (10 from the Tank, 20 from the suit) - I was reset to 20 digs (what the suit gives) and lost 10.

2. Trade for your next tool as soon as able (after using all your digs for the day with your current tool that is)

3. Wait to use your Passes to purchase Mine Packs (3 mines for 1 pass) until:

A. They offer Double Mines (6 mines for 1 pass) - this will make sure you get the most digs for your money Pass wise.

B. The last days of the promotion - this will help make sure you've gotten in as many regular digs as possible, making it so you *hopefully* not need as many passes to complete your skeleton.

Far as I know - you can dig in the same spot forever if you like as it will reset and 'restock' with prizes, relics, bones, or traps.

As for whats in a spot - that is 100% random...In my post directly above this one...I put up an example of what I mean.

Yes, it was basically the tutorial for the promo. Everyone got the same thing, to trade for the new gear, from there, it will differ

I believe it's only one dig a day.

You don't get to dig at all, because that's the tutorial piece and you won't be able to continue.

Nope - as it does not matter where you dig, there's no need to keep track (you can keep digging in the same spot, you can move around, etc.) as you have the same odds no matter what/where you dig.

As for a limit - the only limit is how many times a day you can dig...There's no limit to the amount of times you can dig in a spot though.

Oxygen Tank (15 digs)

Propeller (25 digs)

Robot (30 digs)

After you have the Robot tool - you'll also have the option to trade 12 Relics for 1 mine (which gives you 1 additional dig per mine)

You can dig in the same spot three times, and then it will reset. So you could dig in the same spot the whole time if you want to, what you fing when you dig is completely random.

Once you've used all your digs for the day - all you can do is wait for the next day for your next digs.

Each hole allows 3 digs - before it resets, and you can dig in it again. It sounds to me like you've dug in each hole once - so you can still dig in each hole 2 more times before it will reset. Here's a shot of each 'stage' of digging:



As such, you can keep digging in the same spot for the whole of the event if you wish, or you can move around. It doesn't matter what you do as you can find any thing in any hole at any level (so don't think you need to be on the 3rd dig in a spot to find a 5th Element for example)

Relic UFO


These next two images are from the Cursed Sands (the 2013 variant of this promotion) but the 'UFOs' used for the Underwater Excavations look very similar. As I lack screen shots of the proper ones, I'm showing these to help people get an idea of what to look for:

Prize UFO *Clicking on this will reward you one of the possible prizes (note that it will be a brown chest and facing the opposite direction)


Bone UFO *Clicking on this will give you 1 bone for your skeleton (note that it will be a white bone with no adornment as opposed to the gold and brown in this image)

Robot - 30 digs
*must wait roughly 4 days and trade 80 relics and yellow tool

After trading for the Robot - you have the option of trading Relics for Mines

12 Relics = 1 mine (1 dig)

Again, my times might be slightly off - that's why I put a note of it being roughly how long you must wait
