About Me
I’m a 20-year-old girl from Canada. I first joined Howrse in 2016 with the username @zachaloulex but ended up deleting my account since I wasn’t very active at the time, and honestly, the game wasn’t that great back then! I recall having around 200,000 equus (which was a huge amount at the time) and gifting it all to a random player I met by buying her worst horse at that price. It's a sweet memory! I rejoined in 2020 with this current account, became a top Thoroughbred breeder, but eventually stopped playing again. When I logged back in around 2022 or 2023, I was surprised by how much the game had changed! Teams were now a thing, and I quickly realized that without some financial help, it would be tough to get back to the top.
My Goals
Right now, my main goal is to breed the ultimate cross-country horse by creating a highly skilled mixed-breed. Yes, you heard that right! I figured breeding a single pure breed would be quite challenging, so I’m focusing on blending traits from Arabians and SF. These horses are now equally talented in stamina, dressage, and jumping, and my next step is to breed them together to create a line of perfect cross-country champions.
Game Play
Although I play in a pretty traditional way, I still wanted to share how I approach the game. First, it’s important to set a goal—mine is breeding a perfect line of horses for cross-country competitions, so everything I do is to support that objective.
Breeding & BLUPing
I usually start by selecting a mare that fits my criteria and fully BLUP her. I follow Ow's BLUPing schedule, which helps me complete the process quickly and efficiently (you can find the guide here). Once BLUPed, I breed her with my dominant sire, which is the stallion I find most desirable for the lineage. I typically only keep one active sire at a time. The resulting foals are either added to my active breeding farm or sent to my AP farm if they don’t help me progress toward my goal.
AP Farm
Collecting aging points (APs) is easy when you regularly wake up your horses, but managing a large number of them can be time-consuming. That’s why I recommend creating an AP farm where you can keep unwanted horses and simply feed them daily to collect APs. I also enjoy browsing the auction page to buy horses for under 2,000 equus (feel free to sell them to me directly for that price, just DM me!). These horses join my AP farm, and I usually don’t bother BLUPing them. The goal is to have as many horses as possible, no matter their skills.
Making Passes & Equus
The easiest way to earn passes is by completing daily objectives, which can reward you with up to 30 passes. Many mini-games also offer passes as prizes, so I recommend playing those as well. When it comes to earning equus, my primary sources are horse sales and coverings. However, entering competitions and crafting/selling items at the store are also decent ways to make equus, especially if you're new to the game.
Horse Sales
I’m always on the lookout for horses, and I'm willing to buy any horse for 2,000 equus—just send me a DM!
Here are the current horses available from my production:
- Petit Pied: Available for direct sale at 12,500 equus. Purebred SF with excellent genetic.
- Various male foals from my new lineage. Price depends on skill, they should all be between 10,000-15,000 equuss. When fully grown, you'll make profit off of them by entering them into cross-country comps.
