Hello all!
My name is Sparrow, you can call me Babs if you want a more namish moniker to reffer to me by. I'm an adult player - which still baffles me to think about. I remember playing this as a wee little spoonie something like six or seven years ago. I'm a chronically ill college student, so I only have so much energy, but in order to keep up with classes I neglected things I think are recreational - like howrse - to keep up with the workload. I'm slowly learning how not-good that was for my mood and work ethic. So - now I'm back and having a blast, really. I forgot how much fun I have here.
Some other stuff about me: I'm a Christian and an American. My favourite colours are blues, purples, and oranges. I have a dog named Cookie who's a year old and a Betta named Dargon who I have had for over three years. I love words, art, music and animals. I like to draw and write. I love languages, and am trying to teach myself way too many (six), In order of fluency I'm learning ASL, French, Finnish, Ukranian, German and Korean. If you share any interests with me or know one of these languages and want to make friends then please don't hesitate to pm me! I love meeting new people.
Now on to how I'm playing my game.
I was interested in how the non-inbred breeders play here, but I wanted to put my own spin on it. I thought I'd bring some real-world genetics in to make things a little different. See, you share at least some genetic material with your relatives but the farther removed the relative is, the less genetic material that will be. The amount shared sharply drops off when your relative is between 7 and 10 generations removed from you.
To make the number nice for me to track on the pedigree page, I chose to say that I can reintroduce the same horse into the pedegree every nine generations, except for Ouranos and Gaia who have no restrictions.
Another difference is that I will be crossing my horses, just because I can.
Also, as for disappeared horses, I will treat every disappeared sire or mare in a breed as the same horse.
-Ex. A disappeared mustang sire in one horse is the same as a disappeared mustang sire in another, but not the same as a disappeared quarter horse sire, or a disappeared mustang mare.
If at any time an ancestor in the pedigree of my horses disappears and causes there to be less than nine generations between dissapeared horses of a given breed and sex, all those with the issue will be pulled from the program.
If anyone would like to join me in this little project, or is confused and would like me to clarify please let me know!
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and visit
