I'll start this off with a letter to all those who don't ride in real life. It's
not easy. It's not just hopping on a horse, saying "giddy up," and galloping around like you rule the world. It's not just telling a horse to jump and soaring through the air. It takes trust, patience, perseverance, and strength (and keeping your heels down
) . You're being carried around by an animal about 8 times your weight, but one mistake could lead to it's death. Therefore, the horse has to trust the human, and the human has to trust the horse. But finding the "perfect" horse or pony isn't easy. The stable I take lessons at has a ton of amazing horses; I've ridden all of them but but haven't even come close to clicking with any of them. Believe me, it's not fun and not easy. Imagine driving a car at 1mph for 10 miles. You hardly get anywhere. So to find the perfect horse, you have to be both patient and perseverant. Finally, you don't wince when someone on TV falls off their horse mid-jump unless you yourself have. It hurts. A lot. And it takes so much strength to get back on the horse and try again. Copy and paste this on your profile if you know that I mean.
Life Hacks
Before I talk about my horses, I'd like to state a few facts that'll save you and others valuable time.
- Horses that aren't in the sales aren't for sale, unless the seller says otherwise.
- Horses that don't have "negotiable" written under their prices are nonnegotiable, unless otherwise stated
My Game
I haven't been playing very long, but I'd love to breed champion Lusitanos. I also wouldn't mind owning a few unicorns; but then, who wouldn't?
I'll accept random friend requests, but don't expect me to gift you stuff. If someone congratulates me, I'll try to return the favor. (If I miss your congrats, shoot me a pm if it matters that much to you)
I try not to be rude, but I will speak my mind. The only times when I don't try super hard not to be rude is if I'm ever offended or seriously annoyed.

About Me
I'm a teenage girl in the northern USA, and have been riding horses for a few years now. I mainly focus on show jumping and hunter jumpers, but do have the occasional dressage lesson. I've got two little sisters, who annoyed me so much one day that I made them Howrse accounts just to keep them busy and quiet. I've got a black lab named Midnight who, like all dogs, believes she can still fit in people's laps without squishing them. Most days, I ride a Chincoteague pony named Valentine, but I'm looking for a new horse because she can barely jump a 2' oxer. Unfortunately, on 3/9/19, we realized she was lame and I haven't ridden her since. No one in my immediate family actually owns and horses, or wants to own any horses, but hopefully I'll change that some day in the (very) distant future.

You ask me what sport I do. I'll say I'm an Equestrian. You tell me: it's not a sport. It's easy. You tell me it takes no skill. We just sit there. You tell me: we aren't athletes. It's just a silly hobby. But I ask you: Have you ever trusted something so unpredictable who, with one misstep, can kill us? Have you ever fallen from 7 feet up, going 20 mph, brushed yourself off and kept going? Have you ever raced full speed towards a solid obstacle? Have you ever jumped something that's taller than you? So before you underestimate us, think to yourself; do you understand the true bond required? Have you ever had a team mate, ten times your size? Ask yourself that, don't judge us. Repost if you are a proud horse rider.
