HELLO 18-05-19
I'm Dana - working on a BSc in Biology and Psychology, and now confidently making my way to a DVM-worthy education! I volunteer at a stable on my free time and ride mostly Western and on trail. I like to say I only really love drafts but in reality, any chubby little cutie is the love of my life as soon as I see them. To further explain that, I'm currently riding a 14.3 hh Paint who, although isn't draftish in any way, is totally my little unicorn at the moment.
UPDATE Recently I have had the honor of riding Ronin, a flea bitten Thoroughbred for quite some time. He's just as brave on trail and honestly if he had a bit more meat on his bones, I could totally see some Elvin royalty riding on him in the next fantasy blockbuster, He's amazing beyond words. He's attentive and confident, and is actually the head of the herd at our stable. I lead trails on him now and on occasion, obviously I ride Puzzle. Below is from where we went out for grazing and wild raspberry picking,
Recently I got back from hitchhiking the Golden Circle in Iceland. I got to meet sheep, stop traffic on the highway bc I'm THAT TYPE of tourist, tolt past mountains and waterfalls on an Icelandic Horse, eat strictly lamb and yogurt to the point of constipation and I can't be happier with myself. Now I can check it off my list and go on to my next destination: Oregon, USA or a hitchhike through Alberta to British Columbia, CA.
UPDATE: Now 21, engaged and moving in with my fiance. Also started working at a small animals veterinary clinic and am just that much closer to applying for vet med! Horses have taken the backseat while I struggle to make ends meet but I'm optimistic that the next time I'm seeing horses, it'll be from a buyer's perspective - at least I hope so. Working so hard for success, lets see where it gets me : )
I have a cat who plays fetch, once got hospitalized for eating a cheeseburger, like to stare at the Sun, turn green during the first week of winter, have more scars than I can bother to count, study the day of evaluations, love; Welsh words, Gaelic, garlic bread, tomatoes, all root vegetables, dried mango (Costco style), long walks to nowhere, pine trees, blueberry picking, and bears.
