Hey ya'll! I am a 23 year old Australian girl living on Queensland's East Coast. As you can probably tell from below, my life basically revolves around animals and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Some facts about me: I am a massive fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)! Talk Marvel to me any day and I'll be your bestfriend. I am also absolutely addicted to the TV shows Supernatural (I'll be a Dean girl forever!) and Mr Robot. I listen to mostly what ever music happens to be on the radio majority of the time while I'm driving to and from work everyday but bands such as My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Muse and more will always be closest to my heart. I love meeting people on Pinterest! If you follow me, let me know and I'll follow you back. To find me, right click the button above and open in a new tab! Happy Pinning!
I have been fortunate enough to have had the privilege to travelling overseas four times so far. My first trip was when in 2010 and I got to spend two weeks travelling Egypt with friends from school. It was absolutely amazing and such a beautiful country to see. I have been obsessed with Ancient Egyptian History for as long as I can remember and have always had a particular interest in Queens Nefertiti and Nefertari, and Pharaoh Ramses II so to be able to walk their land and see their monuments was an unbelievable and highly emotional experience for me. In 2013 I spent two weeks volunteering in the St Lucia Region of South Africa helping with constructing houses and school rooms, looking after the kids at the local creche and interacting with Cheetahs, Caracals and Servals at a nearby Big Cat Reserve. I also had a few days in Swaziland, relaxing and going on horse-back safaris. In 2014, I went with my family to Thailand for our first overseas holiday together. Asia was definitely a new experience for me and it was a great one, although I think I much prefer Africa. I would definitely recommend visiting Thailand but please don't support the Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi... Please google it to find out why. Finally in 2016, I went to Cambodia and Vietnam with my family again. Although we were only in Cambodia for three days, I think I much prefer it to Vietnam. Vietnam is so beautiful and full of history but I do prefer Cambodia.
I grew up watching Disney movies and still collect them to this day. Some of my favourite Disney films include The Lion King, The Jungle Book, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, Spirited Away, Tangled, and Frozen. You're never too old for Disney, I say! I love reading and some of my favourite series include Divergent (Veronica Roth), Eragon (Christopher Paolini), Halo (Alexandra Adornetto), Hush, Hush (Becca Fitzpatrick), The Maze Runner (James Dashner), Vampire Academy (Richelle Mead), and Bloodlines (also by Richelle Mead).
Animals mean the world to me and I could never imagine my life without them. At home I have a white and silver mackerel tabby cat named Micah, a 3 year old Blue Quaker Parrot named Rio, and two beautiful little guinea pigs named Alfie and Siddy. Sadly in July 2015, I had to have my beautiful 8y.o Schipperke/Chihuahua dog Holly put to sleep as she had both left and right sided congestive heart failure. In January 2016, I also had to have my guinea pig Colonel put to sleep due to kidney and heart problems at four years of age. At the end of February 2016, I adopted a 5 month old puppy from my local RSPCA. His name is Coco (Loco Coco) and he is a Rottweiler/Kelpie mix (we think, one day when he's fully grown I'll get a DNA breed test done on him).
In real life, I worked full time at a Thoroughbred Training and Stud Center as a stablehand/strapper for 10 months. In total there were about 120 horses at the center that I would look after every single day. In June 2015, I took a job as a stablehand at a stables behind my town's racetrack. My boss comes from one of Queensland's most renowned Racing families; him, his brother, his nephew and his father are all accomplished racehorse trainers. At any given time, the stables usually has between 7 and 11 Thoroughbreds, most of which are geldings with one or two fillies and the occasional colt. Recently on New Years Eve in 2015/6, I got to strap a horse at the races for the second time ever. Steve was coming dead last as he had been a bit shin sore a few days prior, but our jockey rode him up the outside and won the race by a nose. I couldn't have been prouder! Although working as a stablehand can be a dirty job, I love it! If I could work with horses the rest of my life, I would!
