I’m curious how many of y’all ride western or English. I ride western and want to compete in barrels and poles. But English is so fun too! Agh decisions decisions.

I grew up riding English, but did a little western competition. Now I mostly do trails and either style works great for it. I think I mildly prefer English for a good gallop though, because I like to pretend I am a jockey and it feels more freeing. However when going down steep trails and sand dunes on a fresh horse I definitely am happier in a western saddle lol.

I love western. Me and my friends ride together it's so fun. I'm starting to barrel race with my mom. She did junior high and high school rodeo and she was really good so I'm trying to get fast enough to compete too.
