I think the first horse I ever rode was a mare named Lady, but I'm not sure. She died five or so years ago and I remember people telling me but not fully understanding what had happened because I was still kind of young.

Maggie! She was this beautiful black shetland cross and gave me a great introduction to riding ^^
The first time I ever technically rode it was with my mom on her horse Bardot (a big black thoroughbred mare that was accused of being a stallion for the way she acted)
But the first time I rode by myself I was three and it was on Double Delight (a 14.2 appaloosa that I bought for a dollar when I was five..)

Double Delight. default smiley (l)
She was a black leopard appy and the sweetest horse ever
I bought her from my mom's friend for a dollar when I was five, but we had to put her down when I was ten because she tore a tendon, and it was more humane to put her down than go through surgery that she might never have recovered from.
