[Known Issue][May 2025] Ongoing Performance Issues

Thank you to everyone who has reported issues within the game after the maintenance yesterday.

We would like to assure you that we're working to resolve these issues as soon as possible and ask for your continued patience while we continue investigating and applying fixes to the game.

I've listed a few of the most common issues below:
- Game lag,
- Game slowness,
- Delay in receiving password reset emails,
- Delay in receiving verification emails,
- Horse competitions becoming stuck "In progress"

Please know that the above list is not exclusive and is only the most frequent issues being encountered by our players.

Here is a new update on the current situation after the migration:

↪ Emails issue: Good news, the game is finally able to send out emails to almost everyone!
We are still having issues with Yahoo email addresses. The team is on it, but the rest is fine. You should now be able to confirm your email address or reset your password, for example. Please remember to check your spam folders if you haven't received an email in your inbox.

↪ Missing payment methods: The team is still working on getting Xsolla back as soon as possible. However, right now, we cannot guarantee that it will happen before the end of May Packs, unfortunately. Paysafe should arrive even later. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, and we are really sorry about that! Rest assured that the team is doing its best.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it! The detailed amount and content will be finalized by the end of the week. Hopefully, we will be able to send it out next week.

↪ Test servers: The team is still working on it, hopefully they can reopen next week.

The team is also working on other issues, which are less visible to you, affecting our internal tools.

Step by step, things are getting back to normal.

↪ Test servers: Still work in progress and our #1 priority this week since we need to test features for the next update. We hope to be back up and running by the end of the week, but nothing is set in stone.

↪ Missing payment methods: We are still working on getting Xsolla back up. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, especially since May Packs are ending tomorrow. We are really sorry about that! Sadly, we can't guarantee it will be back up before the end of the week.

↪ Global compensation: We are still working on the final details. It will include a variety of items and resources to thank you for your patience during the bumpy migrations.

↪ Performance issues: We noticed an increasing number of reports signaling frequent blank pages, maintenance pages, and other display issues. It seems to affect multiple versions. We are investigating a bit deeper and will provide you with an update next time.

Here is an update on the current situation after the migration.

↪ Performance issues: We are aware that there are still some performance issues, affecting the French servers in particular and also the other versions. This is being investigated as a priority. However, the team still has some difficulties finding the origin of the issues. The metrics we have on our side don't reveal any performance issues, unfortunately.

To help the investigation, we could use more information regarding the issues you encounter:
• On what version?
• If there are specific times you are having issues?
• On what specific pages of the game?
• Screenshots could help as well.

Please share this information with us.

↪ Test servers: The test servers are back up and running (but only for FR, DE, and INT at the moment).

↪ Email issue: Emails should be working for everyone now (but might still land in your Spam folder). Please send a ticket to Support if you still aren't receiving emails.

↪ Missing payment methods: Xsolla is back now and should give you plenty of additional payment options. There is no update regarding Paysafe at the moment, as it isn't our priority.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it, the detailed amount and content have been finalized. The developers will code the script when there is enough bandwidth - hopefully this week, but there is no guarantee.

There are also other issues the team is working on in the background, but things are progressively getting back to normal.

I'll clear it again to make sure. Basically I'm doing my actions with a horse. I just stop using my mouse for a second and WHAM, here it is.

It also happens when I'm doing my usual care, I can't do actions and suddenly there's the Bot check. ...

Please let me know if clearing it reduces the frequency of the bot messages. I confirmed with the team that it shouldn't be that frequent.

Edit: It should be fixed now, so the bot message shouldn't appear too often.

I am having issues with purchasing and not receiving and the support/billing team. I have been messed around since I made my first purchase and now all my stuff has been taken because the support/billing team messed up. I've already made tickets and my problem has not been resolved.

For the last 3 weeks I can not sign in without a lot of hassle and I get frustrated and say to myself I will try again tomorrow and I get a reset which is not fair. I get a new sign in page that just started showing up not the one I have used all these years.

I know you are working to get everything fixed for us players and we do appreciate it. I miss the old sign in screen, this new one will not save my sign in information no matter how many times I ask it to. Any help would be greatly appreciated I am 73 and not a computer wiz. default smiley :(

Can you describe what the page looks like? They haven't done any updates to the login page (besides the artwork they changed several months ago).

It has 4 horses a white horse with wings. I just wish I could get it to work for. I forgot to mention whenever I try to sign in it says I have been inactive for sometime and I need to refresh then I have to input my sign in info again and it makes me do 2-3 times and if I am lucky by the 3rd time I get to play.

I recommend keeping a page other than the homepage bookmarked, as it seems to be an issue with the homepage url. Pull up that bookmarked page to log in. You could use a horse's page, your profile, or a forum link, for example.

is there anyway to get around this login issue. usually don't have a problem but went to login on a public computer at the library and I couldn't get on. I very rarely do this. don't remember the last time I was at the library. just wondering for future if there's a way around it. thanks

Pages are loading extremely slow for me today (like it took me a full 3 minutes+ to be able to get to this page). Are other people experiencing this as well?

I'm still not able to sign in on the home page and instead have to use a bookmarked page. Has this been fixed for anyone?

What happens when someone new to the website signs up and then tries to log back in and can't... I imagine Howrse is losing new players due to this issue. I don't understand why it hasn't been fixed yet.

I was unable to access the site at all early this morning on mobile. Kept getting a "502 Bad Gateway" message. Wasn't my connection because I switched from WiFi to mobile data and back. Other websites worked fine.

I see we are back to more lagging issues. For Heaven's sake, I wish they would fix these things! Went ok for a few days and poof, right back to where we started! And yes, cache and cookies have been cleared thousands of timesdefault smiley (m)

Came to see if anyone else got the Microsoft page instead of Howrse a few times. Looks like I'm not alone on that default smiley :s

Also still lagging... painfully. Some hours it has worked fine though. No idea why and doesn't seem to be a pattern, but maybe this is helpful info?

More information in hopes this helps!

My lag happened near the end of May but it was still playable. It got substantially worse in June and has been slow loading since. Pages take a long time to load. Even on multiple tabs. Also actions can take a while to register it's been clicked. Sometimes it does register quickly but sometimes not. Getting on sales page is a whole journey.

Are the video for rewards down? I’ve watched 5 videos and have not received anything. I even checked my activity stamps (I don’t actually know what it’s called but the ring that says what time you did something, like bid or buy an item or horse) to see if I collect anything but nothing was there. Thank you!

Unsure if this is related to the performance issues however I haven't been able to recieve Aging points from waking horses for a few days now, I easily wake and interact with enough horses per day to trigger this bonus but believe it may be broken default smiley :(

Nearly unplayable at the moment, with shaky buttons and page refreshes. You'd think every horse was a stubborn chimera.

It's been over 12 hours and the game is unplayable.

I ran a tracert to see if it was on my end, but no, the last TEN hops are all unreachable.


I'm giving up on my daily divines for today, not worth the effort default smiley :(

The app was working (with lags, as usually...) at the beginning of the day, but now it's been completely down for a while, at least for me. The message says "Application is having loading problems". Well, I switched to the mobile version, but it's having issues as well - lags (which get better at times), glitches. The reindeers are particularly glitchy somehow - care buttons seem to not be working when you click on them but the server considers them clicked, as you aren't allowed to click one more time, you get warning messages. Then you are either forced to move over to another horse and then back to your reindeer or refresh the page. Sorry I'm too tired to explain all the other glitches in detail. I'm not native English and not using any translators, so long posts are quite a chore for me. I guess there are more players out there who don't complain about game issues not because everything is ok with their gameplay, but because they are unwilling to put their time and effort into these (useless?..) explanations. It's been for how long? A month or more? And issues haven't been resolved. Howrse must have migrated to some very far from perfection server, is my silent guess... default smiley ;)

For App issues after today's update, please clear the App cache. It should work after that.

Regarding performance issues, those are still being addressed.
