[Known Issue][May 2025] Ongoing Performance Issues

Thank you to everyone who has reported issues within the game after the maintenance yesterday.

We would like to assure you that we're working to resolve these issues as soon as possible and ask for your continued patience while we continue investigating and applying fixes to the game.

I've listed a few of the most common issues below:
- Game lag,
- Game slowness,
- Delay in receiving password reset emails,
- Delay in receiving verification emails,
- Horse competitions becoming stuck "In progress"

Please know that the above list is not exclusive and is only the most frequent issues being encountered by our players.

Here is a new update on the current situation after the migration:

↪ Emails issue: Good news, the game is finally able to send out emails to almost everyone!
We are still having issues with Yahoo email addresses. The team is on it, but the rest is fine. You should now be able to confirm your email address or reset your password, for example. Please remember to check your spam folders if you haven't received an email in your inbox.

↪ Missing payment methods: The team is still working on getting Xsolla back as soon as possible. However, right now, we cannot guarantee that it will happen before the end of May Packs, unfortunately. Paysafe should arrive even later. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, and we are really sorry about that! Rest assured that the team is doing its best.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it! The detailed amount and content will be finalized by the end of the week. Hopefully, we will be able to send it out next week.

↪ Test servers: The team is still working on it, hopefully they can reopen next week.

The team is also working on other issues, which are less visible to you, affecting our internal tools.

Step by step, things are getting back to normal.

↪ Test servers: Still work in progress and our #1 priority this week since we need to test features for the next update. We hope to be back up and running by the end of the week, but nothing is set in stone.

↪ Missing payment methods: We are still working on getting Xsolla back up. We know how inconvenient it can be for some of you, especially since May Packs are ending tomorrow. We are really sorry about that! Sadly, we can't guarantee it will be back up before the end of the week.

↪ Global compensation: We are still working on the final details. It will include a variety of items and resources to thank you for your patience during the bumpy migrations.

↪ Performance issues: We noticed an increasing number of reports signaling frequent blank pages, maintenance pages, and other display issues. It seems to affect multiple versions. We are investigating a bit deeper and will provide you with an update next time.

However, the team still has some difficulties finding the origin of the issues. The metrics we have on our side don't reveal any performance issues, unfortunately.

To help the investigation, we could use more information regarding the issues you encounter:
• On what version?
• If there are specific times you are having issues?
• On what specific pages of the game?
• Screenshots could help as well.

Please share this information with us.

↪ Test servers: The test servers are back up and running (but only for FR, DE, and INT at the moment).

↪ Email issue: Emails should be working for everyone now (but might still land in your Spam folder). Please send a ticket to Support if you still aren't receiving emails.

↪ Missing payment methods: Xsolla is back now and should give you plenty of additional payment options. There is no update regarding Paysafe at the moment, as it isn't our priority.

↪ Global compensation: We're still on it, the detailed amount and content have been finalized. The developers will code the script when there is enough bandwidth - hopefully this week, but there is no guarantee.

There are also other issues the team is working on in the background, but things are progressively getting back to normal.

I know, it feels like that specific issue hasn't been directly addressed yet even though it seems like quite a few players (including myself) are still dealing with it.

I do wonder what happened behind the scenes to cause so many glitches in the first place. �

why are the test servers your main priority. you don't listen to the people on the test server. you don't fix things on it that people don't like. the game is a mess right now. FIX that before you try doing other things. your priority should be fixing the mess you made a month ago.

maybe if you didn't try to make little changes that most people don't want, don't care about or don't even notice every 3 weeks focus on the big things.

what happened to what you said on 6/11 about hopefully sending out compensation NEXT week? that was 1.5 weeks ago and NOTHING. and the game still doesn't work properly. this has been a MONTH now and still not working like it should. really frustrating

The lag has been terrible, I can barely even work my divines. It shouldn't take over an hour to work 40-50 divines when you have vip and autos selected to make it as quick as possible.

I was going to buy another collector pack and use the passes to extend vip, but I am honestly questioning what the point is, as the game is barely playable. Would I even be able to use the features that I paid for, seeing as the last 2-3 weeks have been absolutely awful?

Howrse, as a game, has helped me through a lot of hard times over the years, to the point it's one of my biggest past times. I'm happy to support it, but it's getting to the point where I am seriously thinking about whether or not I want to continue spending money and supporting the game.

they need to get their priorities straight. who cares about fixing the test site and who cares about adding new dev corners. Focus on the BIG problem. they don't listen to the people on the test sites and most changes through dev corner people don't care about, don't need, really don't want, or don't even notice. so why is that their focus.

First a big thank you for these updates, this is really helpful.
And another for all your hard work. It must have been a shock for you all as well, seeing a successful game like Howrse only functioning for a bit, like in the past weeks.



I have a thing I'm not sure it's a bug, and also not sure if it is caused by the migration.
It's about the Chinese divines that hardly seem to trigger their perk anymore.
I've seen more people complain about it on Discord.
I know the Chinese are notoriously unreliable, meaning there is no schedule like 'Tianma triggers about 10 times a month' or so. But they've never been *this* low.
These divines are really important for daily play!

I've been lazy and did not read back much in the topic, maybe other people have written about this already. I'm sorry if that's the case.

I've been playing on the international server and I am still unable to log into the main page because of the previously mentioned inability to get past the accept cookies pop-up. I have been using a back door method of googling "Howrse forum" and logging through that page.
For some reason the glitch is only happening when directly navigating to howrse.com.

In addition both the mobile and the desktop version are having horrific amounts of lag. No matter the time or day, it takes forever to go through basic actions like care and entering competitions. I spent over a half hour yesterday just trying to get through horses for an objective that should have taken 10 minutes maximum.

Some of my howrse even tho they're put up for sale aren't showing up in sales, and same with some of my stud coverings also aren't showing up on the public stud page.

Well they say they're working on it, it's better then them saying 'we don't see problems on our end so you guys will have to deal with it'.

They're working to even find the problems now because they have fixed everything they see is wrong. There is probably SO much code and such to look through, and if you don't know what you're looking for it will take longer

Yes it's frustrating but they've been updating often and actually communicating in the forums instead of discord for once, they're listening to the player's problems and they've already fixed a lot of the issues.

Even though they're responsible for the game they're still only human, not superheroes.

Hopefully the compensation package is good, and maybe add passes to it?? I've missed so many pass divine days now because of the lag not letting me take care of them. default smiley :s

they are having issues all the time. they try to make big changes and that's all they care about. and the big changes often backfire. we don't need stupid changes. just fix the game.

Am I the only one who, since the patch today, gets this Darkening Screen, like you've caught a UFO?
I change the page, the screen will darken for a second and then go back to normal.

As somebody who disabled animations because of blinking issues, I find this very uncomfortable.

The mobile app isn't loading up how it should today, it's just a black screen with sporadic writing. But I can access the game via Google Chrome.it was fine last night. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and still the issue persists. I've commented on the Facebook posts. I don't know how I go around reporting it because I simply can't via the app.

The app isn't working for me today as well. Black screen and all wrong layout. I've been trying a dozen times, including right now before posting this. Now I'm using the mobile version but I'd prefer the app. This is the first time I've been encountering such problem with the app, by the way. Better or worse, but it always worked for me, except maybe for the 'white screen' day right after server migration.

all these problems. and here's what they do. make us able to buy items in the BM. which devalues the items. FIX the PROBLEMS.

Adding some items to the Black Market isn't preventing them from working on everything else. It's likely something that was discussed and approved months ago, and the implementation for it was already on the calendar.

The devs didn't just wake up today and think "know what, I'm going to put new things in the BM instead of working on issues." This was likely planned out for a long time where bug fixes are not as bugs aren't planned.

it doesn't matter if this was a long time planned thing. to me it's like there trying to make us think they care by doing some little tiny thing that again don't care about, need or want. usually dev corners do a bunch of things. why only one in this one? to me it's to make it look like they are doing something. all we want is them to FIX the PROBLEM. we don't need them to do these stupid little things. FIX the PROBLEMS. focus on that. it's been over a month.

Although it's frustrating for everybody, both players and devs, constant negativity can make it worse. All the issues are very annoying, but they ARE working to fix them. As jsniper said, there's so much code they have to go to to try to figure out what the issues are and how to fix them. Showing some patience goes a long way.
