Fellow players told me to ask here.
I bred my MarwariXCanadian Mare, (She's a Marwari) to a Friesian Stallion - FriesianXHanoverianXPaintXIrish Hunter (25% of each) - Shouldn't my Foal be a Marwari, not a Canadian? The Ultrasound is saying that the Foal will be Canadian? Arcaii (The Marwari) was bred from my Canadian mare, Iska, and a random Marwari. So way has the foal decided to be a Canadian? |
With crosses, sometimes the highest GP ancestor is the determining factor in the dominant breed.

In Arcaii's ancestory, The Canadian has no stars and the Marwari had five?

Sometimes, I've noticed with my crossing, the foal is the non-dominant breed of the mother. Does that make sense?

You want crosses? I got crosses! Check out all my High GPed cross horses in my others tab!

Lightspeed is another sneaky example of quirky crosses. Came out Standie. I was expecting Friesian or TB.

Ah, I think I get it now. I wanted a Marwari, but I breed Canadians too, so I'm not to bothered, .
I don't care about Purity though, I like Cross-breds, they seam to do better. |

Hello everyone I just wanted to announce that my partner fionne and I have bred and successfully trained the number 2 overall Friesian on the game. Her name is Ferraro and you can check her out on the rankings board
|
Way to go jbradin23 & fionne! I saw your success when I was checking my rankings.

Woot! Got 21 wins at age 6 years for Vegas Diner . Glad I started on her so soon, she is so much fun lol
|
Nice horse Forest Queen i'm very jealous. All my ponies lately seem to be having trouble getting their wins. think i'm going wrong somewhere.
Would love to hear some tips and opinions on how to improve my stock some more. Also would love to team up with people to try to increase the pony crosses on the game (they don't seem as popular as the horses). Feel frre to PM me. Thanks CrestiesRfun

The only thing I know for sure helps is the fact that I only do speed/dressage training before comps and make sure the horse has a tub of grease before entering. My horses are young and have 'few' skills when the compete so it can put them in the lower comps for their BLUP wins. Once they have those I just finish bolding. It has worked for all of my horses, even my NIBs (non-inbreds)
|
Forest Queen that how I normally do it, only with my last shetland (Man In The Mirror) I did dressage and gallop then got my barrel races for wins (this worked very well) so tried it on my quarter pony WhoUCallinMamasBoy (once barrel races were complete I changed tack) but i'm now thinking that I should have trained in speed before entering other comps.
Sorry if this makes no sense, it's late here and have been in work all day
|
lol it makes sense though I have always found it easiest for all comps for speed/dressage only training and have heard that the way you switched over too is more difficult especially if you needed to go back to gallop type comps later for your last few wins. Speaking of that pony, my mare was entered in several comps against him....trots I believe
|
guess my experiment went badly wrong oh well.
|
I think I may just go back to the good old way , no more experimenting for me for a while now.
Thanks for the help Forest Queen.
|
There is never anything wrong with experimenting....tons of experimenting had to be done to come across proper foal games, proper training techniques and the crossbreeds themselves are giant experiments

I agree with Forest Queen, no matter what the breed I always bold in speed and dressage first. It's easy to get the need wins that way.
|
I almost passed out.....Went back to finish working up my mare and she had jumped from 23 wins to 38 o_O.....she was only 7 years and 6 months with *tons* more comps to run lol.
Once she is all done at 10 years I will repost the link. It is a few pages back now. Mk, off to work her. *hi zepharo! 'waves'*
|
Big sigh of relief* Vegas Diner is aaaaaall done training now, just need to age her a few times to get her skills up to the top 10 TB stamina and I'll be done for a little bit......WoY's burn me out x_X
|
That is one monster of an Anglo. Excellent job, Forest.
|
Thank you , her dam and uncle/grandsire (hehe gotta love inbreds) both have higher stamina but they are older than her too
|
Forest, very nice
