There are currently 20 pages of complaints in the Dev's corner thread, it's got to be a record!

Please Please listen to us Howrse! We need you to:

1. Re-instate the old trophy page as the 'collections'
2. Keep the new trophy page but adjust the requirements to make them more achievable

This change could actually become something very positive for the game, but please don't make it at the expense of years of players hard work and the removal of a much loved and successful feature of the game!

The complaints are not about the new system, rather it's about the removal of the old trophies that represented years of dedication, hard work, and real money invested in the game by your most loyal players! Reinstating this will cost you nothing, but it will mean everything to us!

The price of pass horses has skyrocketed since the change. Bought 10 for 27k two days ago and now they're going for 45k. Yggy's finally getting some attention

So I realize everything I posted in this thread was just me being angry. I am now able to compose my thoughts and will be sending this in to contact us. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dear Howrse:
The general consensus concerning this new update is that it was unnecessary and unwanted. There are some things you could change to make it better for everyone, including Owilet.

1. Add Helio's rays and Golden Apples to the collections.
- Helio's rays and Golden Apples are a very important part of this game. Add them to the collections. If space is an issue, only make it possible to view what Rays, Retired coats, and Golden Apples we DO have, not the ones we don't. We want to view what we already own. Only having the option to view everything is cluttered and unhelpful.
2. Publicly display the collections!
-The public display of our collections is VERY important to us! We like to see what we have accomplished and what others have accomplished. Without public view of our specific accomplishments, there is far less want to accomplish anything, including our new trophy objectives.
3. Have horses bought that already have Golden Apples, Retired coats, and companions applied count for the new trophies.
-A majority of the passes I, and others, spend are on horses in the sales for the trophies. By making bought horses not count for the trophies you are removing the want to buy passes at all. Thus removing a large portion of YOUR income!
You may be thinking, 'Well if you don't spend passes on the horses in sales, you'll spend them on our new Divines!' Wrong. What is the point of spending passes on new Divines when we can't display them publicly and there is no trophy for completing a set? Unless they offer something spectacularly beneficial to our game, there is no need (or want) to collect them.

I think it's alright but I've never sent in a ticket so I'm hoping someone has advice? I don't want them to go back to exactly what we had before but most of what we have now is just garbage. I'm also hoping this encompasses most everyone's thoughts and views too? I don't expect my one ticket to change anything but it will give me peace of mind that I tried.

I think the more players that send in feedback, the more likely they are to take notice! Especially if we're all pretty much saying the same thing

If anyone has the full/multiple screenshots of the "old" trophy page, I would greatly appreciate it. Because things are not adding up. My horseshoes, completely gone and set to zero. I have much more companions on my horses.. I cannot even figure out what else is missing because all of it is a mess.

Horseshoes (the golden ones) are GONE. The horseshoes you're seeing now are the Great Challenge basic horseshoes you get by doing objectives.

Yes, I know. But I thought I'd add it because it's so important and 'working on it' for Howrse doesn't mean much. They're 'working' on the videos and the help center too. It could literally be a year or two before they add it back unless we push.

This did not show up on preprod but there are more divines to be won other than the Tarpan and Falla.

I just won the divine Tianma so maybe there will be more as we progress.

Every 10 prizes you get a Divine (9 items and the 10th is a divine)

Is anyone else on any other Howrse servers? If so what is the reaction like elsewhere? I assume the outcry is universal.

I've been playing around with the new trophies a bit today and they just don't have the same charm or inspire me to actively collect them. In some ways they remind me of the old objectives we had but those objectives taught us how to play the game while rewarding us. This are essentially just statistics for what we have done in our game.

I have something else I haven’t seen anyone mention on this server yet, so I’ll add it here:

What purpose is the new Special Horses page under ‘Collections’ actually supposed to serve? It’s exactly the same as the already existing ‘Special Horses’ page, only without the descriptions and fragments. At least the old section under trophies actually gave us a trophy for each series completed and how many we owned overall, and we could see all the special horses on the game that we either did or didn’t own at a glance. Now we have to click/scroll for ages to find anything, and it doesn’t even tell me how many special horses I own anymore - it just gives me a percentage and leaves me to count them all up myself. We don’t need both pages - it’s a waste of time and space, and the new section brings nothing new to the game.

I said it on another server already, but I’ll say it again here - all Howrse has done is spread a fraction of the information from the old trophy page over who knows how many new pages, and enlarged the pictures/fonts to make it look like there’s more new/updated content than there actually is. More content has been removed than added, and I’d argue the only new thing worth keeping is the prize system. Really disappointing. I started playing this game in 2013, and over the past ten years, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve felt strongly enough about a change to actually complain, so you know something is really wrong when even the quiet players begin to pipe up.

It just has a very rushed, disorganised, and very unfinished feel about it. Surely someone should’ve had the time to sit back and think, “oh, now we’ve got two ‘Special Horses’ pages - we should either go with one or the other - not both - or at least have them serve different purposes.”

seconding what was said above - i have played howrse since 2007. i've seen so many updates, interface changes, and overall changes in the game. this is the first thing that has actually made me want to quit. what is the reason for changing something that was working just fine? especially when the update is far less concise and hard to navigate.

Why couldn’t they have done something actually helpful like moving it the “breeds” star, legendary and diving from the breed selection to the species selection so I dont have to constantly scroll down to the bottom of ALL the breeds on howrse? They already of wild under species so why not those? Instead they “fix” something that wasn’t even broken. Like I said, rewards are nice but not worth it for me

What do you mean by Pass horses? *curious because I've not heard of this*

Until a few years ago, we didn't have Yggdrasil or Daily Pass Objectives.

To get monthly passes we sent old horses (at least 30 years, not 25) to Heaven when they died. You'd get 100 passes per horse, for up to 10 horses. After your 10th horse you had the chance of earning a BM or bonus item or 100 passes, with 3000 passes being the max.

We called these "pass horses".

So you can still buy them? *I'm confused*

I had heard about people trading horses for passes but I thought they didn't do that anymore.

Oh, no, sorry, I should have clarified that.

Horses sent to Heaven no longer offer passes, but some may still call the old horses used for Yggdrasil "pass horses" since he sort of replaced the reason for aging up mortal horses (even if he's no where near as profitable as the old system)

I can only reiterate the same frustrations that many, many other players have already expressed.

1) The new design is visually boring, as they’re just all the same medal style. We loved having the unique and interesting trophies you could understand at a glance.

2) The page is clunky and hard to navigate. I really wish we could see numbers instead of just percentages, and it's hard to understand which trophies we have. I'd love to be able to hover over to get more details about my progress.

3) A huge draw of the trophies was showing them off on your page, and as others have pointed out, it was a really cool insight into other players’ game style. You could see if someone was into collecting coats or companions, or bred a certain breed and had all the coats, or was focused on winning comps and rosettes. The new display is so bland and boring.

4) I am not even that serious of a trophy collector, but I feel so bad for those who are, and who lost so many trophies that they spent so much time and money curating. So many categories were wiped out, like the companions, the rays, all the different breeds, the GA coats, etc.

5) Do Iris coats even count for anything now? Am I missing it in the Collections? I was having fun trying to breed all the colors myself to get the trophy, but now even if it was a trophy it wouldn’t matter because I didn’t put a special coat item on?

6) Why can’t we see what the prize we’ve earned is, or what the next one is so we can work towards it? I don’t want Tarpan, so I’m just avoiding opening any of them. So the whole “reward” of the trophies is pointless for me.

The only good element:
1) I do like the idea of having an incentive of rewards for reaching new achievements, but as many have suggested this could’ve been added as a new bonus section in addition to the old trophies. I hope that the devs listen to the immense amount of feedback: reinstating the old trophies and then adding the new medals with rewards would be much better.

Howrse please listen to your customers on this topic.. This is not enjoyable at all and an un-needed change I miss all of my trophies
