You know, some of the new coats might be being made to get us all to buy passes to buy GAs that will cover up all that terrible confirmation. default smiley xd

Just putting that out there.

Still, some of the new ones are nice. I like the new Arabian coats.

@ The Royal Mirage, I think I agree with most everything you say, there are conformation issues with some of them and can use some help but others are definitely improvements from what we had/have. Plus I breed gypsy vanners, and I actually like the new coatsdefault smiley :d
buttons fan6 - I don't think Howrse would make 'bad' coats to get us to spend money, and I find most of the new coats to be scores better than the originals anyways. Can't wait for my Aussies to change default smiley :)

I just looked at some of your arab unis and in the thumbnail on your page they don't have horns, unless I'm just blind, but when I click on them and go to their page they have horns...
rebelangel25 - the thumbnails for unicorns don't show the horns as of this moment, it will likely be fixed later on default smiley :)

QuietRiot - glad I'm not the only one who likes the new Gypsies ^^

If anybody was wondering when the coats are coming out here is the answer:

Everyday for the parade promo you'll get a new horse of a new breed, and whatever breed you get, the horses of that breed all over howrse will update. Hope this helps!
My only concerns about the new coats so far:

The foal for the Arab has that poor squodged nose that looks like someone slipped a rubber band over it and left it on way too long. I know the scooped nose is supposed to be a sign of increased wind, but there IS such a thing as too much of a good thing. I feel very bad for that poor little nose!

And I'd have loved to have seen more feathers on the Vanners - their bodies are nice, but the feathery feet are sorely lacking.

A while back another player commented (i am assuming they are in the test versioon because they told us exactly why they changed the horses coats) about the friesian and gypsy vanner coats. The reason they look they way they do is because with all the feathering like the current version, the new polo wraps for the tack would not fit on the old design of coat. They had to reduce the feathering so that the tack that will be required in the future will fit properly.

I think that Howrse has 2 options.

A) they keep the current coats (the body style and shape as well as the mane and tail style) and simply reduce the feathering so the polo wraps will fit properly when they are placed on our horses in the future

OR

B) they keep the friesian and gypsy vanner coats all the same including the feathering and then once the polo wraps are put on, the feathering will disappear.

I think that these are both very good options. The new designs for thos two breeds just look so unnatural! Nothing like the breeds in real life...

^ Remove the stars.
Does anyone know if the tack from the Atalante/Poseidon/Centaur packs will be modified to be shown on the horses? I think it'd be pretty cool to see a glowing blue saddle on my horses XD

The new coats are much more realistic than the old in most cases, just look at the differences:

New Hanoverian
Old Hanoverian
Real Hanoverian

As well as these:

New Curly
Old Curly
Real Curly

New Akhal
Old Akhal
Real Akhal

Many of the new coats are a big step closer to realistic-looking horses in our game. They don't look as cartoony, and yes some of them need help with proportioning, but I wouldn't ever say that the old ones are more realistic than the new.

The confirmation does seem a little off on some coats, like heavy horse attributes for lighter, thinner breeds, but I do like some of the others default smiley :)

Many of the potential new coats for adults and foals are leaked on page 193. About 3/4 of the way down, there are two quoted spoilers that will contain an almost full list of them with images (the only ones I found to be missing are the Knabstrup foals)

If this is the upcoming new Tennessee Walker, then... Thank you, Howrse. He looks like a Walker (which the current ones totally do not), but he does *not * have all that vile gadgetry (and that is the gentlest language I can drum up) on his front feet like you see in Big Lick horses. (ardlamont is deeply anti-Big Lick.)

Now if only the Morgans had some Morgan breed type... default smiley :d But they are better than the current version and miles better than their original look!! default smiley (y)

Honestly, so far the only new graphic that is not calling my name is the Mustang... He's not a bad horse, but he just isn't saying "Mustang" to me. Then again, conformationally, I think he is better than the current Mustang (which strongly resembles a 1960's Marx horse). But forgive me... I really liked the original Mustang graphic from when we first got them. default smiley ^)

default smiley <:o)default smiley (lol) Well, he was "new" when I made that. default smiley ^)
