The coats are going to change weather we like it or not. That's the way Howrse works. Instead of complaining about it, we should just accept it and move on. There is no need to be mean or bash the artists. I don't like some of the new coats either, but there is not much sense in complaining. Some of the artists worked very hard on these coats. I cannot wait for the new coats to come! default smiley (y)default smiley (y) default smiley :)

I 100% agree! I personally am very, very exited! I love 'em all! (after I got used to them, I started to like them, and now I love them!)

Well, howrse cant read our minds, so they do not know what they like. And even if they could, how could they personalize each horse for each player?

There are some I really don't want to see change. Especially the GV's. The artists did a great job though. Good job artists!

I do REALLY love the new KWPN's and Australian Ponies. But I will miss the Mawaris and GVs

I personally love the new Wari coats :3 but I agree with the GV's

Our opinion should have some influence.... They just work because we pay....... I don´t care if they worked very hard because the resultad is awful
I now have a collection of Hanoverians I'm not desperate to put GA coats on. default smiley (y)

What do Pegasus look like with the new coats?
By Retired breeder, 27th March 2014 15:34:44
I agree with ~Dove~. They were very cute, don't get me wrong. But I think the Shetlands were smiling a little to much to make it look a teensy bit fake.
Retired breeder wrote:

The GVs look less drafty if you know what I mean and the Shetlands, well, I breed them because they look fat and cuddly! The new ones look...hard...and skinny....default smiley (n)

I breed GV's because of the fact they are a DRAFT breed (sorry for the all caps the whole no drafts on howrse really bothers me default smiley :) ) The old picture captured the breed characteristics as did the friesian photo. Don't get me wrong the artists did a good job on the images but they removed several breeds characteristics therfore lessening the reality of the game. That was the whole reason i had moved to this game!

Well, the Tennessee Walkers look more realistic, don't you think? Now we won't have 3 or 4 breeds with the same graphics!

I guess you could say that, but I still can't say I like the new coat better.
By Retired breeder, 27th March 2014 15:37:15
Well, GV's are not really draft breeds, but they do have similar physical characteristics.
Ok, so:

Arabians: Really not that much different, thank goodness! I do think it looks better with the leg lifted, though, but this one I can accept. Overall: Yes!

Thoroughbreds: If you look at each individual part (the head, the legs, the tail) it all looks exactly the same and yet, when you look at the horse as a whole, it looks entirely different. I think it's the body. The horse looks a lot chunkier and not as athletic. The mane also looks like a bit of a scribble- I'm not loving it. Overall: No!

Curlies: I never really liked the Curlies. I always thought it looked, I don't know, too harsh? This one looks a lot softer, but, again, I'm not a fan of the new mane. Not very well done, in my opinion. Overall: Yes!

Akhal Tekes: These are another breed that I never really liked. It currently looks very fake- There's way too much shine on it. It looks like a toy or something. I was never keen on the mane, either. I love the pose though- It looks beautiful. The new pose isn't as impressive and the lifted leg looks too small. It looks much more realistic though. Overall: Yes!

Mustangs: No. Just no. I really just cannot stand this one. The thing that first hit me was the bulk of the neck- It looks way too big, especially with the little head. I also much prefer the current tail- It looks like there's a bit of sass which goes nicely with the high spirits of real mustangs (obviously I'm generalising here) And again- What is going on with the mane!? Where is it? There's barely anything there. Overall: No!

Gypsy Vanners: Do I even need to say anything here? The mane, the body shape, head shape, tail, feathers. The new one doesn't even compare to the current one. Overall: No!

Shetlands: Never really liked the current ones. They look too podgy and more like soft toys than real animals. The new one is nowhere near perfect (a little flat and there's something off with the head shape- Too dished, I think) but it's a big improvement on the current one. Overall: Yes!

Friesians: I'm not even going to comment on this. Overall: Absolutely not! No! default smiley (n)

Nokotas: Again, one I was never particularly keen on. I can't quite put my finger on what I disliked, but I much prefer the new one. Overall: Yes!

Appaloosas, Argentinean Criollos, Paint Horses, Quarter Horses: I feel like they should switch the necks from this one with the Mustangs one! The neck looks way too long and thin for the size of the head. I'm not overly keen on the head of this one anyway. The tail looks so thin- Like it's had a clump pulled out. The mane looks like it's been cut off another drawing and awkwardly pasted on. The chest looks too perfectly rounded, too. Overall: No!

Barbs, Canadian horses, Lusitanos, Peruvian Pasos, Purebred Spanish Horses: This one's one of the better ones. With a longer mane, thicker tail and maybe a bigger head, this one would be absolutely beautiful. It looks much prettier than the old one, but it's not perfect. Overall: Yes!

Hanoverians, Holsteiners, Irish Hunters, KWPNs, Russian Don Horses: This was my least favourite coat- I think that currently it's really ugly, but I can't put my finger on why. Anything would be an improvement on this and I'm glad it's been changed. Although, I can see a line between the tail and leg, but I can't say I've noticed it on the Russian Don I own. Overall: Yes!!

Brumbies, Icelandic Horses: I wasn't greatly keen on the V3 one, but I don't like the new one either. I think the current one is the best, but not by much. I think these need some work. At least the current one has a unique pose. Overall: Maybe.

Hackneys, Morgans, Standardbreds, Tennessee Walkers: This one looks the same except they've stopped it trotting off. I prefer the current one for the pose- It gives it some life! It was much too small and shiny though. I think they need to take the old pose for the new design. Overall: Yes!

Knabstruppers: I was never greatly keen on the Knabstrupper. I didn't like the head and face, I still don't, but the body is much improved. Overall: Yes!

Trakehners: The current one is just like the Russian Dons- Ugly. However, the new one is no beauty either. The head and body is much better, but the mane and tail knock it down quite a bit. Again, the mane looks pasted on and the tail is too small- I think too thin, maybe, rather than length. Overall: Yes!

Fjords: I'm so thankful that these haven't changed much- The V3s were perfect anyway, but this one looks slightly more grown up. Howrse may not be able to do Brumbies, but they can definitely do Fjords! Please *do not* change these in the future! Overall: Yes!

Welshes, Connemaras, Quarter Ponies, Australian Ponies: There's something off with the necks of these ones. Too long and slightly too thin, I think. I reckon the heads are a bit too long as well. That being said, the heads on the current ones are really unattractive. Overall: Yes!

Newfoundland Ponies: Nah. I don't like the new one or the current ones. I think if they took the mane and tail of the current one and the build of the new one, we'd end up with a much better looking horse. Overall: Maybe.

Agreed! The genetics that make up the breed come from Shire, Clydesdale, Dales Pony, and Friesian ancestry. They were bred to be an average sized horse with a draft body. They are not really Drafts, they just have that appearance.

I'm upset about the Shetland changing. They were so cute and Teddy bear like. I CANNOT believe that they are changing the paints and quarter horses and all of those. Paints used to be the most common horse, and the most well known, and I cannot believe that they are changing it. Ugh. As for the mustangs, I'm also very upset, I LOVED the old mustang. They always looked so graceful, and now they look so stiff. I am for the warmblood horses changing. I never really liked how they looked.
The horses look more realistic for the most part, but they also look very stiff, and not cuddly default smiley xd
