I can sort of...

The Sparkling Apple is like a Golden Apple but you can choose a picture of a horse to use for the Sparkling Apple. So if you had a picture of your horse that you wanted to be the picture of your howrse you would use the Sparkling Apple.

I don't think that they would introduce the sparkling apple. If I am correct that prepod was from a long time ago and I could see some people abusing that power to do some really stupid stuff. It's probably more of a safety concern and that's why they haven't introduced it yet.

I definitely agree with Dash Shepherd on the Sparkling Apple. There are probably quite a few people who may end up posting a picture of a horse that is inappropriate. I can just imagine the report button going kaboom after a few days... Though I would love to have one of my horses on here have the picture of my horse in real life, I can see many problems in implanting the Sparkling Apple.

I totally agree. Although you would think the

Sparkling Apple is kind of like a privledge. You get to post pictures of your horse if you follow the rules.

I don't know if i like the idea of the sparking apple. I mean, i like the coats that Horwrse already has, and the GA coats. I mean, it is a cool idea to have a pic of your horse on here....but, its kind of sad when you do not have a real horse anymore.

I have not been on here in a while, so what is new?
This may seem like a random question, but will they ever be releasing the wind divines in the sales? Or did this happen long ago?

This happened awhile back (Around the end of May of 2014 to be exact - as that's my Boreas Birthday (and I got him from the Sale))

Also - for those talking about the:

Click to display
Sparkling Apple - that 'spoiler' has been around for over a year (I actually have a screen shot and description of it somewhere). 95% sure that's a fake one based on the sheer number of issues it would raise (such as use copyrighted photos, people claiming others work as their own, etc.)

Well yes, I completely agree, it would be insanity to introduce it :P But I was just curious as they had even bothered to translate it to swedish and all, even if we didn't really have a pre prod at the time.. default smiley :p

ShorahNagi; Doesn't seem like it's fake after all. I actually thought it was when I first heard/saw screenshots of it 1 1/2 years or so back, but this is a screen shot taken by -me- (and I haven't edited it apart from making it smaller, my screen shots become huge for some reason) from the UK translation center.

so it actually seems like it is/was a real item. My question from the beginning was simply if anyone had spotted this before or if it's new; if it's new then they might introduce it (hopefully they won't due to copyright issues etc -.- ) but if it was old (the translation center texts) then it would've been from when they first thought about it.

I've found these on the swedish server as well, I mean they even bothered to translate it to swedish and we didn't even have a pre prod at the time if I'm not mistaken :P

I have the perfect picture of Dakoters! Gosh, he would look stunning! And Oxi and Bee too! I hope the Sparkling Apple does come out. Also, is it weird that I caught a UFO and it said "You might have seen something pass by, but it must have escaped..."? I've never seen that message before.

If you take too long to catch it, it gives you that message instead of an item default smiley ;)

Yes I think that it would've been amazing to make one... When were they removed anyways also does anyone think/know if they'll ever find a way to bring them back?

Oh thank you much appreciated default smiley ;) My addicted to this game didn't start up again until around June of 2014 so I would have been completely unaware!

February of 2011 is when it was removed. The Reason behind its removal was due to the fact it caused many issues which ranged from horses turning invisible like this one, to players being unable to properly use the item due to browser issues (ex. could not drag/drop layers as intended), to the biggest one which was some players would purchase the item - then be completely unable to use it.

At the time of its removal - it was stated that, if a way could be found to bring it back without the issues, they would consider bringing it back. However - at present time, this seems unlikely to happen

I love the "sparkling apple" idea. It's quite fascinating. However would you be allowed to post any picture? Even one of a cat, or a fish, or an anime character? Or only horses? How would mods regulate this "sparkling apple"?

I can't seem to find the old information about it - but from what I recall:

Click to display
The idea of it was to be limited to horses (ex. a photo of your own horse) - and that other animals would not be allowed.
However, that probably would not stop people from trying to submit images of wolves, dogs, and other non-horse animals. Nor would it stop people from submitting copyrighted photos as their own.
The sheer amount of work it would take to moderate and check all the images would be astronomical and just not practical (it's hard enough with the GA coats - which is partially why Howrse switched to the current voting system as sometimes players catch things the Admins and other Team members miss).

Adding to what Shorah said, it might be hard for players to even find the right picture to use themselves, as the horse would surely need to be in a certain part of the frame, small enough to fit with some sort of background, and regarding backgrounds, how would they choose whether to use your whole picture or just a cut out of your horse like a GA?

It's a nice idea, but surely not feasible.

What was a DA? I'm guessing DA stands for Diamond Apple? But what did it do?

The downside to this 'Sparking Apple' is you could rip off Diamond Apple coats or Retired Coats very easily. I think it's just as ridiculous as that item that would let you put a Retired Coat on your horse.

You'll see samples if you click the button for it in the sales, but it allowed you to change the coat of your horse while still retaining its howrse-given body shape. You could add different patterns and colors.

Tell me about it, I'm an RC collector, I've paid tens of millions of equus and hundreds of passes to get my collection to where it is today and I was fuming, to say the least, when I heard about this item, luckily Howrse realised it would be a massively bad move on their part and didn't add it default smiley <:o)
Yep, that would shut out us RC collectors....hope i made that make sense.......default smiley (lol)

There's been a lot of talk about draft horses, and people seem to be expressing disappointment that they're not unique enough. I had an idea that may make draft horses more interesting, solely related to their breeding. I've submitted this to the admins, and they agree it's a very good idea. I'll share it with all of you.

Here is what appears to be the GP gain formula, without the random variance. As the formula shows, foundation horses can have huge +40 GP gains on International.

I propose that draft horses use a modification of the classic GP gain formula, so that the GP gains are drastically reduced. This would mean more players would put in more work to advance the breed and draft horses would not be as easily monopolised like all other breeds. This would also stop draft horses from being monopolised like every other breed so easily, and it would create a whole new GP race.

Tiny GP gains would result in a more level playing field. I propose that the GP gain formula for draft horses, without the random variance, should look like this:

Having the top GP based on the top GP of draft horses and not the top GP of any breed would mean that from the beginning upon release, draft horses would have very slow GP advancement. Once draft horses reach 400 GP, the average GP gain for 350 GP draft horses would be around 0.5. This very slow advancement is like a whole new GP race, and by also lessening the gain of the top GP draft horses, it will be a slower moving GP race as well, making draft horses more interesting and challenging for all players.

This modification of the classic GP gain formula for draft horses would open up a new and fresh GP race, one that isn't dominated by the already established GP monopoly. Draft horses deserve to be separated from the normal horse GP race, and a modification of their GP gain formula would certainly achieve this and keep players interest for longer, otherwise draft horses will pass as a fad once they too are level with every other breed.
